In Albuquerque New Mexico largemouth, Smallmouth & Spotted bass are neither stocked nor are they farmed by New Mexico game & fish or even privately. Some of New Mexicos larger lakes such as Elephant Butte lake and Navajo Lake are stocked with fingerling bass but none of our smaller ponds or lakes, the bass that are caught are native and are in all these ponds, small lakes, rivers & ditches naturally. Being none of these fish are stocked or farmed it makes catching them harder and you are much more appreciative for the ones you do catch every bass caught here is considered a Trophy!
