Fable 5 is Back.

After discussions with the U.S. government, Anthropic has updated the cybersecurity safeguards for Fable 5, bringing the model back with stronger security measures.

Here's what has changed:

✅ The vast majority of coding tasks remain completely unaffected.
✅ Some harmless cybersecurity-related prompts may now be flagged more often while the new safeguards are being refined.
✅ If a request is flagged, users will be be notified and seamlessly switched to Opus 4.8.
✅ Biology and chemistry safety classifiers remain unchanged for now, with improvements expected soon.

It's great to see Fable 5 return while balancing powerful capabilities with responsible AI deployment.

The AI race continues to evolve—not just with better models, but with stronger safety standards.
