Hi everyone. Apologies for being a bit quiet for a coupe of months, but I have been working on a particular project. It is a book that I started writing a number of years ago. It's still not quite finished, but it is well underway, and I thought some of you might like to read what I have completed so far. I am going to be uploading the first 2 chapters this Saturday and see what reception it gets. It is about the adventures of a Humpback whale and of course it has an educational and environmental message to it - I hope you enjoy it.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that there is no video this week. I have started a new job and so I don't have as much time to devote to the Channel as I was. I am aiming to upload every other week and I'm in the process of putting together a video for next week. Until then, stay happy and healthy!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. Some of you will already know that Tokitae (Lolita) passed away at around 4.00pm Eastern time on the 18th of August. She had been suffering from a gastrointestinal issue for a couple of days, which was being treated and then suddenly developed acute renal failure, from which she could not recover.

She had shown such strength of character during her time in captivity that I truly believed that she would survive a transfer to her home waters and spend her last remaining days in relative freedom - sadly, this was not to be.

For me, at least, her captivity is a symbol of everything that is wrong with humanity - our total disregard for other life forms on this planet and the belief, by some, that we are ‘superior beings’ and that the world and its resources are only there for us to consume in some way.

But she was also a beacon of hope for many people, who wanted to put right the wrongs committed against her species, and it was just within grasp.

Emotions of the many people who loved her, from all around the world, run deep. She leaves a void in people's hearts, that will take a long time to heal. I send my thoughts and love to those who had the honour of actually knowing her, they must be devastated; and also to others who, like me, followed her story from a distance and grew to love her from afar.

She is now, in a way, free and I sincerely hope that her spirit is swimming with her beloved pod in the beautiful waters of her home.

Some of you maybe wondering why I have not uploaded a video for a few weeks. Unfortunately, my Mum is extremely ill in hospital and I have not had the time or the 'head space' to be able to write any videos. I will be posting 'as and when' I can and hope that you will not forget me in the meantime.

My very best wishes to you all.

Hi everyone, I hope you are staying safe! Unfortunately, there is no video this week as I have had a few days off, enjoying walking on Dartmoor, in Devon. Next week is about the Hunting strategies of Orcas, which I am sure you will enjoy 😊

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you are all staying safe and well! I am starting a new series called 'Fun Fact Friday'. It is exploring the questions that I have been asked, over the years, as a teacher. On a slightly Christmas theme, the first video is on 'How do Polar Bears stay warm'. It is uploading at 5.00pm GMT - I hope you like it!!
