Today we solemnly remember Major Mohit Sharma, AC, a fearless warrior of the 1st Para (Special Forces), who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. On 21 March 2009, during a counter-terrorism operation in the dense Hafruda Forest of Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, he displayed extraordinary courage and leadership. Despite being seriously wounded under heavy enemy fire, he rescued his injured comrades and neutralised multiple terrorists, never hesitating to put the lives of others above his own. His unparalleled bravery and selfless service were recognised posthumously with the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award. Major Mohit Sharma’s legacy is a shining example of valor, dedication, and patriotism — a hero whose courage will forever inspire and remain in the heart of every Indian

Lt Col Ranjit Singh Pawar Sir 🇮🇳
He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army’s Army Ordnance Corps and was posted as Administrative Officer at Central Ammunition Depot, Pulgaon. On 31 May 2016 at around 12:50 AM, he responded to a smoke alarm with immediate action, mobilising the entire establishment and locating the source. He led firefighting efforts from the front, deployed fire tenders, and personally moved between teams to motivate them while preventing the fire from spreading to nearby explosive storehouses. When a firefighter faltered, he himself took the hose and directed water onto the burning area. During the operation, a massive explosion occurred, killing him and 18 others instantly. Even after the blast, his body was recovered still holding the hose—symbolising unmatched courage and duty till the last breath. For his exceptional bravery, leadership, and supreme sacrifice, Lt Col Ranjit Singh Pawar Sir was awarded the Sena Medal (Gallantry) posthumously
