Church of the Resurrection

At the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, our purpose is to build a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people are becoming deeply committed Christians. We have a vision to be used by God to change lives, strengthen churches, and transform the world. And we are on a journey to know, love and serve God.

Church of the Resurrection

No matter how uncertain the future feels or how painful the past has been, one truth remains: God is still God.

You are His. You are not alone. And there is always hope.

What’s a promise of God that gives you hope today? Let’s encourage each other in the comments.

Our minds are powerful. We can use our imagination to magnify our fears—turning challenges into giants that feel impossible to overcome. Or we can shift our focus.

When we center our hearts on God’s presence—through prayer, worship, and honest conversations—we open ourselves to His love and mercy. And when we imagine His power at work in our lives, we begin to live with courage and hope.

What would it look like for you to shift your focus today?

We cannot save ourselves—but we don’t have to.

In His great love, God comes to us in Jesus to save us from sin and its consequences, to restore us, redeem us, and heal us.

We all need that salvation. He can save you—from your brokenness, from your guilt, from the weight of the past.

Through Christ, we are made new.

Church of the Resurrection

Pain and suffering are real, but they are never the final word.

God can and will transform pain, redeem suffering, and lift us out of the darkest of pits. Even in the hardest moments, He is at work, writing a story of redemption and hope.

Whatever you’re facing, remember—this is not the end of the story.

Church of the Resurrection

After six hours on the cross, Jesus took His final breath and said, “It is completed.”

Darkness covered the land as the light of the Creator was extinguished by the created. His suffering was over. His mission was fulfilled.

As we remember this moment, we invite you to pause, pray, and reflect.

You can find our on-demand, guided Good Friday Prayer Vigil at resurrection.church/easter.

We also invite you to Good Friday services at any of our nine physical locations or streaming online at 7 PM. This moving service includes a dramatic reenactment of the hours leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion.

Church of the Resurrection

Jesus’ final words from the cross were not of anger or despair—they were words of trust.

“Father, into your hands I entrust my life.” (Luke 23:46)

After hours of cruelty, humiliation, and unimaginable pain, Jesus chose to surrender everything into His Father’s hands. Even in the darkness, even after feeling abandoned, He still trusted.

On this Good Friday, we are reminded that faith is not just about believing when things are easy—it’s about trusting when things feel impossible.

What would it look like to trust God fully, even in difficult times?

As Jesus neared His final breath, He cried out, “My God, my God, why have you left me?” (Mark 15:34)

In that moment, Jesus felt the weight of complete abandonment—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He experienced the kind of darkness that so many of us face in our own lives.

If you’ve ever felt distant from God, if you’ve ever wondered where He is in your pain, you are not alone. Jesus has been there too. And even in His darkest moment, God had not truly abandoned Him—nor does He abandon us.

How does it change things to know that Jesus understands your darkest moments?
