The cheapest token will come from the smartest megawatt.

That was our Co-founder & CEO Venkata Reddy Kasu argument on the keynote stage at the 2026 National DataCenters Summit.

The conversation about AI usually stops at chips and models. We came to talk about what sits underneath all of it - Power.

Because every AI token is made of electricity, and the power architecture behind it is the last unoptimized line in cost per token.

Backup and storage that only ever cost, never earn. Land committed before anyone knows if power exists there. Contracts drafted by four advisors who never spoke. A grid-revenue line permanently at zero.

None of it gets fixed by negotiating harder on the tariff. These are design decisions, made before the first contract is signed.

That's what CLEM.ai solves - the world's first agentic system for AI data centre power intelligence, so every megawatt plans, builds, runs and earns instead of simply getting consumed.

Grateful to ‪@TheEconomicTimes‬ and the ‪@ETDataCenters‬ ET Business Verticals team for convening the industry around it.

“The cheapest token in the market will come from the smartest megawatt.”

It was a privilege to present at The Economic Times National Data Center Conference in New Delhi and share CLEM.ai’s vision for powering the next generation of AI infrastructure.

My central message was simple: power is no longer just a utility bill for an AI data center. It affects both the cost of every token and the speed at which billions of dollars of computing infrastructure begin generating revenue.

Power hits the token twice:

⚡ On the bill — power and cooling can represent approximately 23% of the cost of AI inference.

⏱️ On the clock — delays in securing grid capacity can leave expensive GPUs waiting instead of earning.

For an illustrative 100 MW AI campus in India, our modelling demonstrates what a power-first strategy could unlock:

• ₹251.6 crore in annual power-system savings
• ₹1,576 crore in ten-year modeled NPV
• Up to 18 months faster time-to-power
• A 27.1% reduction in annual net power-system cost

The biggest strategic shift is this:

Don’t acquire land first and then wait for power.

Secure deliverable grid capacity, identify the power-ready envelope, build the right 8,760-hour energy portfolio, and locate the AI campus around it.

CLEM.ai brings this together through a closed-loop agentic operating system:

Strategy decides.
Bespoke products package the outcome.
Execution builds.
Operations optimizes, earns and continuously improves the next blueprint.

From grid intelligence and energy-mix design to contracts, interconnection, resilience, 24/7 carbon-free energy and grid-services revenue, CLEM.ai is designed to turn power from a constraint into a competitive advantage.

My invitation to AI data-center developers, operators, investors and power partners is straightforward:

Give us one Indian site.
Take back your own numbers in 48 hours.

The future of AI will not be determined by compute alone. It will be shaped by how intelligently we connect compute, power, grid and capital.

The cheapest token will come from the smartest megawatt.

Our Co-Founder & CEO, Kasu Venkat Reddy, delivers the keynote at The Economic Times' National Data Centre Summit in New Delhi.

Tokens are made of electricity — power is the last big unoptimized cost in AI. CLEM.ai, our agentic power OS for AI data centres, closes that gap by making every megawatt plan, build, run and earn.

We look forward to connecting with you at the summit.

Tokens are made of electricity.
And on most AI campuses, a large share of the power bill isn't electrons at all — it's architecture. Backup that sits idle almost all year. Land bought before firm capacity is known. Contracts that don't reconcile. A grid-revenue line that earns nothing.
You can't negotiate your way out of that. It has to be designed out — from the very first decision.

That's what CLEM.ai does: the world's first agentic system for AI data centers. Modelled on a live AI campus across Texas, Bengaluru and Frankfurt, it keeps a meaningful share of the power bill every year, keeps paying for the life of the campus, and gets GPUs earning sooner instead of waiting on the grid.
The cheapest token in the market will come from the smartest megawatt.

The AI race is increasingly becoming a POWER race. ⚡

As AI data centers scale from MW to GW, power is rapidly becoming one of the biggest constraints:

Where can we secure the power? How quickly can we connect? At what cost? How do we ensure mission-critical reliability — while progressing toward 24/7 carbon-free energy?

At Sustainability Economics, we built CLEM AI — an AI-native, agentic platform for AI data center energy infrastructure designed to address this challenge end-to-end.

CLEM AI brings together:

→ Grid & Location Intelligence — identify where and how quickly power can be secured
→ 8,760-hour Intelligent Energy Mix — optimize economics, reliability & CFE
→ BESS & Resiliency Strategy — architect next-generation backup and resilience
→ 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy — move from annual matching toward hourly CFE
→ Contract & Supplier Intelligence — optimize sourcing and commercial structures
→ Execution Intelligence — move from strategy to implementation
→ AI-Native Energy Operations — continuously optimize power, storage, cost & carbon
→ Grid-Enabled Revenue — unlock value through demand response and ancillary services

Our objective:

Make power faster to secure, more economical, more reliable and cleaner — and transform energy from a constraint into a competitive advantage for AI infrastructure.

🌎 CLEM AI is now launched across 21 countries spanning the Americas, EMEA and APJC.

Had an excellent and thought-provoking discussion at CII Session 13 | Clean Power Systems on “Powering the Economy: Meeting the Next Wave of Electricity Demand.”

My central message was simple:

India’s next power challenge is not just about generating more electricity. It is about intelligently orchestrating demand, supply, grid and capital through AI-native agentic systems — as one integrated, adaptive power ecosystem.

A few themes that strongly resonated:

⚡ Demand is transforming, not just growing.
From a record 256 GW peak met in 2026 toward a projected 459 GW by 2035–36, the nature of demand itself is changing. AI/data centres, cooling, EVs and industrial electrification will create increasingly dynamic and complex load profiles.

🌱 India is building from a position of strength.
With 500+ GW installed capacity, ~50% already non-fossil, and a record 55 GW of clean capacity added last year, India has proven it can build at scale. The next frontier is AI-native orchestration — continuously optimizing demand, generation, storage, grid constraints and capital so the entire ecosystem runs more economically, reliably and sustainably.

🔌 Grid readiness must become predictive, demand-driven and hub-specific.
A major data-centre cluster can emerge in 18–24 months; new transmission can take 5–7 years. Closing this gap means moving beyond traditional planning to agentic systems that anticipate demand, identify emerging constraints, evaluate alternatives and continuously orchestrate generation, storage, transmission and flexible demand.

🌍 India has an opportunity to leapfrog.
Flexibility markets in the US, hourly clean-energy signals in Europe, distributed storage in Australia, green data-centre standards in Singapore — India need not replicate these sequentially. We can integrate the best of them and build the world’s first truly AI-native energy economy.

The opportunity ahead: move from building capacity → to AI-native, agentic orchestration of the entire power ecosystem — agents that predict, plan, optimize, execute and continuously adapt.

My sincere thanks to Jyoti Mukul, Chief – Energy, CII, for steering a sharp and substantive conversation, and to my fellow panelists for their perspectives:

Mr Jishnu Barua, Chairperson, CERC
Mr Rupal Gupta, Founder, MD & CEO, TrueRE Oriana Power
Mr Himanshu Aggarwal, Director – Power Sales & Regulatory Affairs, Vedanta Power

Grateful to CII and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, for convening this dialogue at such a pivotal moment in India’s energy transition.

The next wave of electricity demand will not be solved by capacity alone — but by AI-native agentic systems that intelligently orchestrate demand, supply, grid and capital, at scale.
