This is the main thing God has been teaching me in this season of my ministry life. He keeps on reminding me that the approval and applause of men is not my reward; The fruit of my labor is not my reward; Seeing the church grow is not my reward; The people I’m discipling partaking in the ministry is not my reward; JESUS is my reward.
Pastoring can be exhausting and at times even frustrating. The feeling of not being seen and appreciated is a norm. Loosing sleep because the burden to pray for the flock is a regular occurrence. Carrying other people’s burdens is part of our calling. But because JESUS IS MY REWARD, I am truly satisfied. I lack nothing because I have Him. I am strengthened because of Him. I am at peace knowing that He is for me. My joy is complete because He is with me.
By the grace of God, I will continue to pursue JESUS, my sweet reward. I will continue to carry my own cross, deny myself, and follow Him because He is worthy. I will continue to embrace my brokenness and boast on my weaknesses because that’s the only way that He can be glorified! Just like what David said, there is one thing I ask, one thing that I seek after, to dwell in the house of the Lord forever; to gaze upon the beauty of my God!

❕JESUS IS MY REWARD❕
