‼️MAJOR spoilers for Joker 2, DON'T scroll unless you have seen the movie because it spoils the ending!
---------------------------------------- SPOILERS HERE ---------------------------------------- I don't even know what to say. I'm devastated. We waited 5 years for this. FIVE years. To be literally slapped into the face.
• Todd Philipps created one of the most fantastic, iconic DC movies and a great character study, that I will forever honor, only to destroy his own creation in such a visceral way. This is exactly what's wrong with DC. Nobody gives a fuck about this franchise anymore. How did this ending even get approved of or survive the early screenings? I enjoyed the first half of the movie, for the most part. The singing was a bit of a drag sometimes, so was the fact that the entire movie revolved around the trial. Especially Harley's character felt empty and flat because rather than giving her more character development in order for us to even understand this character (I still don't get her and her supposed motivations) they just spammed songs that added nothing to the plot. When Arthur said "Please stop singing and just talk" at the end I FELT THAT. But what really ruined it were the last 30 minutes.
• My problem is not that Arthur died, my problem is how it happened. How utterly disrespectful it felt to a character dozens of people fell in love with in Joker (2019). We saw him TRANSFORM into the Joker along with his whole compelling, well written backstory. Then Joker 2 comes around and basically paints us, the fans who literally carried your first movie and spread the word in order for it to reach the GA back in 2019, as media illiterate. If his point was that everyone cared about Arthur *just* because he's the Joker, he's dead wrong. I can't speak for everyone but a lot of us love characters like him BECAUSE of their tragic backstory and who they really are underneath. There is more nuance to it. If you know my Joker videos, you probably already know that I humanize him as a person and his past a lot. Same with Homelander or any other character that fits the tragic villain archetype some of us enjoy so much. That is what the first movie does too, it is the literal intention of the 2019 movie. And then, all of the sudden Philipps decides that he hates his own movie and his entire audience.
• TDK's Joker worked because he was already Joker from the start. We didn't see him as anything else. Arthur's strong point was his origin. What was the point in feeding us the backstory of Arthur in the first movie? What was the point in creating a character that ended up being so beloved, so cared about, only to kill him off in some "haha, gotcha!" shock-factor bullshit ending. I accept no excuses for this shit writing, I'm sorry. Not even "but-but...that's literally the point, Joker is always some random guy!" Yeah, but they don't make us waste 4 and a half hours on the random guy before the Joker we see in the media we, the fans of DC media, consume. They don't turn a "random" guy into someone you care about. So who exactly was this ending written for? I don't know WTF they were trying to do and I'm still furious so please, if you got that bad joke Phillips calls an ending, enlighten me.
• Don't get me started on Harley's portrayal. That woman made zero sense. If you take a closer look at nearly all Harley Quinn incarnations, you'll notice how she craves some kind of crazy normalcy with the Joker. BTAS Harley being the most obvious one, she literally says she wants to settle down with him. Hell, even the DCEU did this right with Harley's dream sequence when she met Enchantress.
• So yeah, at the end of this essay, where does that leave us and future edits? Arthur Fleck is as much of a Joker to me as Jerome Valeska was, no question. Except that the writer's of Gotham were decent enough to give Jerome a respectful send-off. I don't think any of us were disappointed when it happened and the mantle was given to Jeremiah. It was well done. Can't believe even a TV show outdid a major 200 million dollar Hollywood production, but here we are. I'll edit Arthur when the movie digitally releases and I'll involve him in any future Joker edits too. Gaga's HQ gets nothing from me.
► As for the lack of edits, I can't say it will change much in the future because life has been busy enough without raging over shit DC does. I'm at a point of major life changes, sadly I don't have as much free time as I used to 5-7 years ago (shoutout to the people who are still around, I always love getting your comments under new and old videos). I still have to catch up on Penguin but it looks very promising and like a show that respects the character and the story they are telling. Lastly, I'm a broken record but this channel doesn't exist as something to generate me views or likes. I'm very grateful for the fact that it happened when Gotham and Joker (2019) were released because it led you guys to finding me, but you won't see me edit the newest and most popular media the second it releases because I just have no connection to 99% of that stuff. And I'm not someone who adapts, I won't make shorts unless I feel like an edit I have in mind benefits from the format. I will always edit what I love and if you love the characters I do and enjoy my personal editing stlye too, you'll always see me around because quitting is not something I ever plan to do.
Of course I couldn't resist making a video for him with my favorite song to edit and he's a VERY fun character for this type of edits, the lasers are too satisfying.
I'm so glad I was able to edit this video. Life hasn't gotten any easier unfortunately, but I really hope to edit Homelander more soon because he's very special to me (as usual my comfort characters are villains covered in blood)
I've also seen the new Joker 2 Trailer of course, it's on my list to make a little something for too!

Joker and Harley have INSANE chemistry (quite literally) judging from the short snippets we have and that alone will carry the movie. When Arthur said "I'm not alone anymore" in the trailer, I cried. I'm dying to see their story. Personally, I also think they reference Joker 2019 a BIT too much in the trailer. Sure, that's how they can market it the best way but I hope it won't be a pattern throughout the actual movie. Anyway, I'm very excited!
∘ Off-topic sidenote: "James March | Serial Killer" was not deleted by me, I got a strike for it (yep, they really striked me for a 2018 video lmfao) It expires in 30-something days, you'll find the video on my back-up channel and added back to the AHS playlist after that period. Any videos I unlisted rather than YT striking me, can be found in a playlist called "Old & Unlisted" on this main channel. Any striked videos will be on that back-up channel to decrease the risk of getting striked again
Hey everyone, it's been a while! It's been a bit over a year since I posted a video on the channel and a good while too since my last community post. There are a few things I felt like mentioning since I revisited the channel recently.
To adress a few of the questions some of you asked under my old videos:
∘ Why did you leave? Are you alive? Thanks to everyone who asked for your concern and sorry I didn't respond! Chances are I saw it weeks/months later, I barely logged into the channel. My problems with DC aside, I was facing major challenges and change in my private life. I can gladly say that most of that is resolved now and that I'm in a better place now, mentally. I never saw this channel as a tool for me to generate numbers and get as many likes or views as possible. When I make an edit about a topic, I put all the love I had for that piece of media or character into my videos. So this will never be a place where I will force myself to put out content, as much as I love and missed sharing and engaging with you guys.
∘ Will you make edits for the upcoming DC movies & shows? My only answer is "95% yes for Joker: Folie à Deux". Since my fate in DC isn't really existent anymore, I am keeping my hopes for everything else low and I can't tell if there will be anything from the list below that I will feel like editing. The Suicide Squad game? I'm not happy with the direction it took. The Joker picture says everything. I'm not happy with the franchise as a whole. I have my problems with Gunn and every bit of hope and excitement I had for the future of the live-action universe ironically died when they brought Henry back as Superman, just to tell him he's out again in the favor of some younger Superman. I'm not kidding when I say I disliked every single DC movie of 2023.
∘ What about other fandoms? I'm not actively watching too many shows & movies since I never watch something just because it's a current trend, but there are a few I am considering. It depends on how much it gets me into the "editing mood".
∘ Will there be any changes? Maybe. I feel like it will be a bit of a new start so next time I'll post an edit you might notice some things are different, but in a good way :)
Coming out of hiding for a moment to say Rest In Peace, Arleen Sorkin. She's the Harley I grew up with and will always remain the best to me. I can't believe we lost both the original Batman and Harley Quinn in such a short span of time. They will never be forgotten in the hearts of BTAS fans, that's for sure. (Art by dnc_samson_art)

I couldn't manage to finish any edit in a satisfying way at all and I currently can't upload for some personal reasons I can't get into. I also have serious problems with the direction DC is heading to with Gunn which just makes me feel disconnected from the franchise I love so much, but that's a topic for another day.

I'm pretty down about this because it's always been a thing for the past 4 years for me to upload on this day but 2023 has been a bullshit year for me so far and betwen real life stress, poor mental health and the fact that I am not happy with where DC are going with James Gunn as the lead (but that's a story for another day, it's one of the reasons I've been more inactive and less enthusiastic about DC content except for Joker 2) it was hard for me to make this year's anniversary edit happen at all and I'm not fully satisfied with it today which calls for some reworks. I'm aiming for it to be finished and uploaded this weekend. Sorry for the delay but I just wanted to let you guys know why it won't be out today and that I didn't forget, my gift for our favorite murderous Clown is on the way!
In the meantime, I hope you all have a wonderful April 25th and take care of yourselves ❤️
🃏 They wrapped up filming Joker: Folie à Deux according to Todd Phillips and I'm calling it...we're getting a teaser soon 👀
It's good to see Joker wearing his iconic costume with slight variations again, I was almost worried when all we got in the last couple of weeks were pictures of him with the grey suit but we have to keep in mind that the leaked scenes of these two are just snippets out of a movie that's two hours or longer. Not every filming location was leaked, the Joker stairs were because they were so obvious.
Some people keep saying that the pictures and videos that have been floating around on social media spoiled the 'ending' and I'm not sure why they even believe it's the ending - for all we know that scene could even be scrapped entirely or just some kind of hallucination sequence. Remember what happened with the first Joker? The entire script was leaked, only for the movie to be completely different since it was just an early draft. We haven't seen anything yet and I'm so ready for more!

◦ I doubt this will be their final look since they are probably still filming the earlier scenes and aren't anywhere close near wrapping up plus Joker's hair isn't even green in the set pictures we've seen so far. I'm pretty sure they'll both have multiple outfits in the movie.

► Side note on the channel: I'm currently on a hiatus/mental health break but I should be back in April and there will be a new Joker Anniversary video as always of course. Edit (5th April): Nevermind, apparently they DID wrap up filming Joker: Folie à Deux! That was muuch quicker than I expected, it's interesting how fast this movie was finished compared to the first one but I'm not complaining because that means we'll get teasers soon!
No way. We got a surprise Valentine's Day post from Todd Phillips and it's PERFECTION! You can literally see how Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga will have some insanely good chemistry just based on this single picture alone.
The past few days have been great for DC fans. First, both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton are back as Batman in the Flash Trailer and now this beautiful picture. Let's hope a small video teaser of these two will follow soon!

It's been a bit over a year since I posted a video on the channel and a good while too since my last community post. There are a few things I felt like mentioning since I revisited the channel recently.
