Today, Nebula is hosting a charity livestream to raise money for World Central Kitchen and I'm going to be on it! I'll be live at 4pm EST to talk about all the unlikely and unexpected movies that somehow became holiday traditions, together with Angela Collier, Benji from Tale Foundry and Henry from The Closer Look - it's going to be a lot of fun, and there are many other amazing creators hopping on, so be sure to tune it at: youtube.com/live/MpVYz3hCRcA
World Central Kitchen is a nonprofit organization providing fresh meals to people in crises - think of displaced communities in Ukraine, suffering people in Gaza, and so on. They've already served more than 500 million nourishing meals around the world, and after tonight, that number will hopefully be even higher!
I finally got to see Chris Stuckmann's Shelby Oaks, which I thought started off promising enough
with a refreshing perspective on the (B) horror movie, but which unfortunately, quickly devolved into a generic sludge that ultimately sacrifices its own voice before it even had the chance to fully come into fruition. As such, however, it is an interesting movie to disect and talk about, which is exactly what I did over on the 2nd channel:
Still can't quite believe how many people have already seen my latest video, thank you so much everyone!! I just posted a response on the 2nd channel, which includes some reflections on the making of the video, a few expansions on sections that I ended up cutting short, and some additional thoughts on the subject in general:
New video coming soon (hopefully tomorrow), but in the meantime, I watched the actual debut film by Christopher Nolan, which had been considered lost media for 31 years, until someone finally found it:
We are so back!! My counter notification was sucessful; block has been lifted and the copyright strike against my channel has been removed! Soo happy to be able to share this one again with everyone!!
Part 2 of my "Best Movies of the 2020s" series is out now on the 2nd channel! This one covers 10 movies that are just destined to become future cult classics:
