Have you ever wanted to listen to both the Holst and the Darke settings of In the Bleak Midwinter at the same time? Look no further than this version I arranged a couple of years ago, recorded by my duo @peeriefaeries ! Happy Christmas! 🎄
This song was commissioned by The Living Memory Association for the exhibition Queer Edinburgh, running from October 2022 - February 2023 at The Wee Hub (the former Debenhams unit) in Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 6JJ. www.livingmemory.org.uk/queerEdinburgh.php
Filmed in The Lost Close, Edinburgh.
With thanks to Jamie Conkie for being our cameraman!
I've been taking part in this year's digital Samhuinn festival by singing some Gaelic songs! Have a watch to hear my rendition of Mo Luaidh Mo Leanabh while playing a poverty-stricken mother. A slightly more upbeat one will hopefully be forthcoming in the near future!
It's been exactly a year since I posted the completed version of Hide Away. Bored by lockdown and missing musical collaboration, I was excited and inspired to do my own take on @just-tea's brilliant COVID nursery rhyme. I didn't expect anywhere near the level of attention and praise it got, but I'm hugely grateful to anyone who's given my little song a listen.
Twelve months later, we're still locked down, but there's hope on the horizon in the form of the vaccine. Who knows what the future holds, but I hope everyone is staying safe as best they can. Thank you again for giving me such a lovely boost during this horrible year! 🎶💖
Hello all! I've never made one of these "community posts" before, but I thought this might be a good way to let people know that, after many months of people asking, I have finally got on the spotify train! So far only Hide Away is up there, but more may be added in due course, so please stream away: open.spotify.com/album/7BEXfFdSNWKy88Gl9pVpyX The track is also still on bandcamp and will remain here on YouTube: alicedillon.bandcamp.com/ I hope everyone's keeping well during the continuing lockdowns. 😊
