As I was reading Isaiah 2, I stumbled across verse 22, "Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?"
This verse stood out to me because it revealed to me how prevalent trusting in humans is, even in the Christian community. It made me think, how many of us truly trust God over trusted officials? If Biden were to say that all student debt was forgiven, most of us wouldn't even bat an eye or have an ounce of doubt because of his position. Yet when Yahweh says that he can deliver us, transform our lives, and heal us, we doubt Him, despite His position as the King of Kings.
Why is that? Why is it that when God tells us He can do something we have an ounce of doubt, but if it's trusted officials we believe them whole heartedly? A lot of it is your heart posture. A lot of it is also the enemy sowing seeds of doubt.
If this is you, and you struggle with viewing God as the God He is, the One who walked on water, turned water into wine, rose from the dead, and many other miraculous things, pray this prayer for transformation in your faith life.
"Father I come to you, humbled asking for your help Lord. I realize I do not hold you to the same respect as I hold others. Lord please reveal to me what is causing me to doubt, and strip it from my life. Lord if I idolize others, please reveal that to me and strip me of those idols. Give me the strength to walk away from those entities and prioritize my relationship with You. Lord I yearn to trust You with all my heart, and lean not on my own understanding. Please help me see that You have done and continue to do everything You said You would do. We pray these things in Your wonderful name, Yahusha Hamashiach. Amen."
