URGENT NEED - save from slaughter. In exactly one week, there’s going to be an auction in Texas. Unwanted & dumped donkeys are going to be run through the auction ring and sold to the highest bidding kill pen buyer before being sold by the pound for slaughter. From what we know about auctions, many of them will be pregnant females, or old and sick donkeys.
At this particular auction, we have confirmed directly that all donkeys not saved by a rescue will be shipped to Mexico for slaughter.

We have to do something. We have fortunately had a lot of adoptions so far in 2024 and this opens up room to save more! So Kenneth and I (wiilliam) are heading to Texas in a few days to try to rescue as many donkeys as we can. It’s a scary experience for donkeys who have already been through a lot—so we’re going to try to get them before the auction starts, when they’re waiting in a holding pen like this one.

As we have shared before, the cost of the donkey is not in the rescue, but in the care afterwards. We fundraise $4,000 per donkey rescued to cover bail, transport to CA, intake exam, quarantine, vaccine, dewormer, farrier, feed & care for the first 6 months. Plus x-rays, medicine & medical treatment for the donkeys in need.

Kindly support is needed to our sick donkeys which were diagnosed with laminitis by the vet doctor, we managed to raise $145 out of $600 for their treatment and hay, please any support is another day to live for them 🙏🙏🙏🙏
