A follow up from my latest video: If you’re using speed paints, your base layer is SUPER important to the saturation of your colors.
This is the difference between (A) brighter zenithal primer and (B) conservative drybrushing Slapchop.
Also yes, both of these were printed on an FDM printer. I will make a tutorial of the settings I used eventually, but sometimes I just need to paint some minis instead of film. :)
Time for some FDM warform paint testing! I’ll plan to one with slapchop speed paints and the other with traditional acrylic. We’ll see which one shows more layer lines from the 3D printer.

Knocking out a couple minis using new techniques to start the new year!
On the Skybreaker, I attempted stippling on the cloak. Definitely going to need to practice that more.
The Chull is almost all speed paints and took less than an hour to finish!
The pikeman is my first attempt at using transfer sheets and I freakin love how he turned out.

- 2 new Stormlight STLs available now on MyMiniFactory
- 1 new Stormlight STL planned for everyone month of 2026
