Researching and documenting a handful of the 15,000+ abandoned mines in SE QLD, Australia.
We research and explore abandoned historical mine workings in pursuit of the amazing historical story that the mine workings and miners quite often left behind.
QAM is trained in rope access and working within confined spaces. We do not endorse or encourage anyone to enter abandoned mine workings. This can be potentially life-threatening for untrained and inexperienced explorers. Accessing workings on private land without permission from the landowners could constitute trespass.

Friday night, we will be sharing part 3 of QAM's "Deep South 2025" series. Hope to see you all there. It's a huge mission and we find some cool mining history. John & I also tested some mine discharge water for PH levels on our way up to the mountain peak bismuth mine workings.

Our next "Deep South 2025" adventure is almost edited. It was a ridiculously long day shooting this with John & me needing to get fairly serious with our navigation as we were hiking through rugged terrain very high in the mountains in the cold winter rain.
Deep South episode 2 is due to air on the first Friday of October.
Hope to see you all then.

We are still hard at work editing close to 250 GB of raw footage from our 2025 Deep South winter expedition. The second episode is nearly ready and will be posted on the first Friday of September at 7 p.m.
We will have solid monthly episodes all the way through to January, then a very special 6-part series commemorating Queensland Abandoned Mines' 5th anniversary.

This Friday at @7pm AEST, we share the biggest adventure in our 4 years of shooting underground abandoned mines. We access a mine worked from 1916-1978 that was worked from 9 huge levels with a total depth of 450 metres. This one is a monster. Hope to see you all for part 1 of 3 this coming Friday night.

Coming this Friday is one of most ACTION PACKED adventures of the QAM exploring year. Geo's will love this episode as it's a very special and pretty mine. Lots of high grade Wolfram still evident in the giant pillars still holding open the cavernous stopes.
Just when you think the episode is done, BC finds a very old vent shaft that we estimate only opened up weeks or even days before this day. Curiosity gets the better of Ebenezer and he sends it down to explore what's down there. We also all lie to John and tell him not to prepare for any flooded workings.
7pm QLD time this Friday.

Coming this week as a BONUS scheduled episode. A fully intact 1950s Ghost Town Mining Camp! Buck Chancey put it all on the line and bolted through the scorching deserts of New Mexico to bring us this special episode. You won't want to miss this one. Thankyou Buck (And Hannah for car sitting in quite a remote and very sketchy area)
