I love to travel, visit museums, national parks, and places few people know.

Travel is joy. Joy is being in a place somewhere new. A new place is where adventures are created. Adventure is travel.

I detailed all my travels via my blog www.braincontour.com.

I took photos of the moon as it entered the Earth’s umbra (partial eclipse) and when its entirety is in the Earth’s umbra (total eclipse). Have you witnessed the blood moon eclipse last Friday too?

Note: You are free to share this post. However, please ask for permission if you save/download/use my photos. Thank you.

Plastic-Eating Mealworms is a Solution to a Big Pollution Problem

The surprise ally in the fight against plastic pollution comes in the form of a plastic-eating mealworm. Native to Africa, these tiny worms can digest polystyrene, used in styrofoam, thanks to special enzymes in their gut.

In a recently published study from the journal Nature/Scientific Reports, these mealworms were fed a mixture of plastic and nutritious bran; in just one month, they degraded 11.7% of the plastic. The scientists are hoping to capture the enzymes and bacteria from these worms so they can develop large-scale processes for dealing with plastic waste.

This research breakthrough offers real hope for a cleaner, more sustainable future.
