La gestión de riesgos es dolorosa.
Tienes que decidir qué duele más:
1. Perder dinero en el upside.
2. O perder dinero en el downside.
Ese es el tradeoff.

Market volatility is heating up amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, and savvy investors are taking note.
Last week, the S&P 500 closed below its balance range bottom, dipping about 1% on Monday before a choppy ride: gaps down followed by higher closes on Tuesday and beyond. www.mariorandholm.com/2026/03/09/nasdaq-at-the-low…

Gold is giving us a lesson in statistics:
New Video
youtube.com/live/izeExmbe1Hs?si=Fmv2QW-mPD0tEY26
Today’s move, −5.7%, is atypical: a 4.46-sigma event.
In a “normal” world, that should happen once every 240,000 trading days. In reality, drops between −4.67% and −6.00% have occurred 34 times since 1971, that is, over 13,088 trading days (0.26% = once every 385 days).
Even larger declines have happened 21 times since 1971.
Message: gold is not a low-volatility asset.
The lack of selling fueled the last rally.
Now comes profit-taking. My question is for how long.
What does it mean? Statistically, the most likely scenario is calmer days ahead. We’ll see… I take it day by day.
Don’t panic now—it’s gold, and that’s more than manageable.
A single lesson: markets do not follow a normal distribution.
Tail events—tail risk—cluster together; kurtosis rewards good risk management, and anyone relying on a 4-sigma model to explain gold just got another reminder of a non-Gaussian reality.
