Combining assertive (post) black metal with a powerful and solid, at times almost death metal sound, its music comes as a massive flow of energy, consisting of a flurry of drums, multi-layered guitar canvases, piercing melodies and expressive vocals, rusty and ominous like an apocalyptic sermon.

You can find two tracks streaming from the album now to give yourself a taste of what the album brings. If you are intrigued by what you hear, we are offering the album presented in digipack format with an accompanying 16 page booklet, as well as two distinct shirt designs, and various bundle options.

The album will be unveiled on all digital platforms on June 17, and we are expecting to ship out all physical products in early July.

As some of you must know, the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada since the arrival of European settlers has been one of forced relocations, structural and behavioral violence, kidnappings, and cultural genocide. Although the violence against Indigenous Peoples across Canada is not as "overt" as it has been in the past, the legacy of settler-colonialism still has dire impacts today, manifesting itself in issues such as the egregiously high rates of missing and murdered Indigenous Women, lack of clean drinking water on Reserves across Canada, the generally higher rates of poverty and health-issues for Indigenous Peoples compared to the general Canadian public, and the lack of acknowledgement of Indigenous land rights from corporate entities and its lackeys in the Canadian government.



In combination, these issues seem almost overwhelming, especially in the context of a national and provincial government who will only pay lip service to Indigenous issues. Between 2008-2015. the Canadian government set up a "Truth and Reconciliation" committee and followed that up in June 2015 with 94 "Calls to Action".
Unfortunately, as is typical for a government beholden to capital , only the most surface-level Calls to Action have seen any progress, while most remain dormant and ignored. Indigenous Land Rights are one such area that will likely be disregarded by the Canadian government as it works to push through environmentally damaging extraction projects which threaten all of our survival and the future habitability of the planet in the pursuit of short-term profit and industrial development, locking us into extractive industries at the precise moment when it is is long overdue that we shift our energy system to more sustainable sources.



Raven Trust is an excellent organization who has been fighting legal battles on behalf of Indigenous Peoples across Canada, and in fact to the benefit of all Canadians and people of the world, as it works to set legal precedents for Indigenous Land Claims, while also protecting the environment for all people. In the spirit of reconciliation, and in order to do something tangible rather than paying lip service to these ideals, Hypnotic Dirge Records will be donating 20% of sales from Bandcamp Friday on April 2 to Raven Trust to do our very small part to help fight these legal battles.



Bandcamp Fridays have become quite a successful day for bands and labels due to YOUR generosity. I want to reiterate that the amount we will donate to Raven Trust is YOUR donation, not ours.
Nothing is more disingenious than companies, organizations, groups, etc. claiming a donation is theirs when it is others who have actually put up the money.


Therefore, on Monday April 5, we will be making the donation on YOUR behalf, and of course posting screenshots of Bandcamp Sales as well as the donation confirmation for full transparency.

Today is an exciting day for us as we premiere the first video clip for The Haunting Green's album "Natural Extinctions." The video clip is for the track "Where Nothing Grows" and is being released today - November 17 - as the date holds special significance for the members of The Haunting Green. This video has been in the works for a few months now, and required lots of attention to detail and meticulous planning and execution.

Directed by Maurizio Polese and Chantal Fresco and shot by Maurizio Polese , Laura Sans, Massimo Cracc.

We are now accepting pre-orders for “Nightmarrow” from the Rochester, NY based Atmospheric Black Metal band Mavradoxa. In addition to the new album “Nightmarrow” presented in a light-weight but sturdy 6 panel eco-sleeve, a Nightmarrow bundle, which includes the CD, the official album t-shirt, a new sticker, button, and signed postcard is also available, as well as the Nightmarrow shirt and a CD bundle which includes 2017’s “Lethean Lament”.

Nightmarrow is a meditation on the isolation and hopelessness of our age (particularly in the realm of the urban), and the consequences of technology and voracious consumption of resources. The nightmarrow, the specters here are the distillation of our negative qualities: the interminable urge to consume, to control, and the chaos that results, this malevolent part of our human nature lurking in all the woe and decay we've created.

The spirit of the album is rooted in the cycle of bloom and decay. It juxtaposes the purity of nature and the encroaching venom of urbanity. It contemplates the futility of technological advancement. It questions what would become of the planet if we continue down our current path into annihilation, if it would be left a hollow shell, or if new life could ever bloom in the soil of our remains.
