I served in the ROKMC as an infantryman and later as a rifle squad leader. I’m going to show you cool fun gameplay, help you learn about tactics, and how games model them.

What did everyone think of the spectator cam part of the most recent video? Do you want more in dedicated vids?

Heeeeeey how’s it going guys. The channel’s been slowing down recently - it’s more a symptom of some rebalancing occurring IRL. For the time being I’ll be uploading less frequently, focusing on specific milsim topics that relate to what I happen to be playing at the moment.

The channel will pick back up when life is ready. And come October I will be proceeding with a “ROK Marine Plays MW4” series when the new CoD is released. It’ll be different but hopefully a fun series where I get the opportunity to share a lot more personal stories and offer the perspective of someone who served in the ROK armed forces.

There are many of you who’ve stuck around from the beginning - thanks for the support, and hope to continue seeing you in every future upload!

Should I do a DMZ trailer reaction or skip it?

BIG reception to the Modern Warfare 4 reaction & breakdown. Thank you. For all those who might be new to the channel from that video - you guys are very welcome! You'll quickly find that my content is actually pretty different from Call of Duty. Here's a quick introduction for you all.

My main thing is using real-world tactics in video games, because I think that in of itself is fun. A lot of people will call it LARP, but I think there are a lot of things that actually help you win - especially in the large-scale teamwork aspect of things.

Arma 3 is a big platform to make this a reality. These are the videos where you'll see myself and other players mirror IRL behavior as closely as possible, including for things like TCCC and radio comms. The thing is that they are done in a PvE environment so it's hard to see what is LARP and what is helping us win.

That's where my Bellum videos come into play. It's a platoon vs. platoon PvP shooter that's specifically designed to enable real world tactics to become THE meta for gameplay. In those videos you'll see me dispense with a lot of the LARP and boil down tactics to their bare fundamentals, using what REALLY matters to win fights against other players...who are also doing their best to win.

I am currently working on an Arma 3 video as my next one where we practice a recon patrol, which will be a cool way to showcase patrolling fundamentals, an immersive vibe, among others.

It'll be another week or so before it's out, and that tends to be my usual upload cadence, with no specific schedule. After that one I'll try and get a Bellum video out for you all.

Hope you guys enjoy the vids!

I heard the new call of duty trailer features actual Korean troops. Should I do a trailer react...and then maybe a campaign playthrough when it's out? Would be a different sort of game but the narrative campaign might be fun.

In other news, I'm currently working on my next Arma video. Some recon patrol stuff incoming!

Thanks so much for all the viewership - I think the last run of videos I published on machinegunning to Bellum was one of the most successful my channel’s ever seen.

YouTube is a balancing game between grinding for success and keeping a sustainable cadence. While I do take this channel seriously I do try and keep a healthy balance between it and other areas of my life. So I’m going to take a short break for the next week or two - but don’t worry I have quite a bit of Arma 3 footage banked up I want to present to you, as well as some Bellum footage that illustrates some concepts we’ll get to after.

Thanks all again - see you soon when we’re back!

Hope you guys enjoyed yesterday’s video. My next one is probably going to be a quick video presentation of a fireteam leader guide I recently made for the Bellum community, that nonetheless should be broadly applicable for milsim in general. Then I’ll probably return to some Arma 3 content for a bit.

Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see more of. I was thinking I could do a little bit of CQB theory/doctrine using Doorkickers 2, as internet discourse tends to be very dogmatic and focused on individual techniques over the tactical big picture. The goal would be bring more problem problem solving to the gameplay, depending on the METT-TC.

Let me know if that’s something appealing to you all.

We’ve been on a roll with the last few videos - thanks so much guys for the love and support! My next one is going to take a couple more days than usual but I’ll aim to get it out as soon as I can.

This channel wouldn’t be possible without you all so thank you again!
