So things may be a little quieter here for the next few days — although knowing me, I probably won’t manage to stay completely quiet. 😄🎶

While I’m away, my new song “I Just Keep Smiling” will be released on September 11th.

I chose and scheduled the release date some time ago without really thinking about the significance of that day. September 11th carries painful memories for so many people, and I would never want the cheerful nature of this song to come across as insensitive or disrespectful.

The release is already scheduled and can’t now be changed, so it will arrive as planned. “I Just Keep Smiling” is a light-hearted country-pop/folk-pop song about everyday chaos, memories, dreams, and that wonderful way music can make everything feel a little lighter. 🎶❤️

So while I’m enjoying a little break, there will still be new music from Crisy G. 😊

“Borrowed Shoes” is one of my favourite songs out of all the songs I’ve written so far. ❤️

Maybe because it feels so close to me.

I think many women spend years without even realising how much of themselves they’ve slowly pushed into the background.

We adjust.
We give in.
We stay quiet.
We try to meet expectations.
We carry other people’s opinions, expectations and dreams…

And after a while, it almost starts to feel normal.

Not necessarily because someone is deliberately trying to hold us down.
Sometimes, little by little, we simply learn to take up less space.

Then one day, you look in the mirror and ask yourself:

Where am I in all of this?

That’s what “Borrowed Shoes” means to me.

It’s about that moment when you finally realise you don’t have to keep walking in shoes that were never truly yours.

We met as classmates in pastry school, shared laughter, dreams, long days of learning, and countless ordinary moments that never seemed important at the time.

Life took us in different directions. We built our own lives, our own families, and followed different paths. Yet every time we met, it felt as though no time had passed at all.

Losing a friend reminds us how precious every shared memory truly is.
