Trucker Josh VLOGS

The last couple of weeks have been a challenge for our family (particularly for Micah and Brit), to say the least. We've been in and out of the hospital.
Micah, unfortunately, has Prolonged Jaundice which kept us in the hospital for just over a week after his birth and has brought us back to the ER, doctor's appointments, and labs for bloodwork already more times than I can count. It's been a scary experience with so much uncertainty, but we are navigating the situation the best we can.
Micah also hasn't gotten back to birth weight just yet. He has a second check-up with our GP next week to check his progress, at which time they will evaluate whether or not we need to get pediatricians involved with his care.
His bilirubun levels have been between 280umol/L and 350umol/L - just below the threshold for NICU care.
Last week, We had a pretty big scare. The day after we got home from the hospital, Brit started to hemmorhage and throw a lot of clots. My mom brought her to the ER, at which time, she went into shock. We thought she might not make it for awhile.. It was terrifying. After an almost 24 hrs stay, lots fluids, anitbiotics, and a couple of ultrasounds, it was discovered that there was placenta left in her uterus during her c-section, and she has a bad infection. She's still on antibiotics, but is definitely on the mend and slowly starting to feel human again.
I go back to work tomorrow. We are definitely a bit nervous as to how Brit's first week alone as a mom of two will go. We still need to establish a routine. Thankfully, we have a really great village we can reach out to at any time.
This has not been the postpartum journey Brit and I had hoped for, but it's the one we got. I can't wait for Micah to be 1000% healthy and thriving, so that we can settle into a normal rhythm and simply enjoy our time with our boys. 💞

I know I haven't posted any videos this week. I'll be back. We've been very busy and overwhelmed with the curve ball we've been thrown on this journey.
I'm hoping that soon we can settle into a new routine that doesn't involve regular hospital visits.
