First question
What was the inspiration behind your band name?
At the time our band started, which was around 2010-2011 we did not had a name. So after various tryouts (Victim of a Vampire) our drummer got inspiration from Megadeth which has a similar letter pattern, it was his favorite band at that time. We also created a band mascot which was a woman Vampire and let to the further meaning behind this, which was dark love symbolics with "Lilith and Lucifer"
Second question
Are you self taught or did you go to school for music?
Both of our guitarists are multi-instrumentalists and have higher musical education, our drummer completed music elementary school for adults and the rest of the band were self-taught. Rob, our vocalist, is taking private lessons from time to time.
Third question
Who is your dream person to collaborate with and why? Our band is diverse a lot so everyone would collaborate with their different favorite artists. Notable mentions are: Ville Valo from HIM, Abath from Immortal/Abath :) Howard Jones from Killswitch Engage, Alexi Laiho (deceased) from Children of Bodom. Paul Gilbert and the others.
Fourth question
Do you see yourself touring the USA anytime? Once there will be an opportunity, we will go for it 100%.
Fifth question
Who is your biggest inspiration?
All that is around us :)
Sixth question
What is your song writing process?
In most cases we were starting with the main melodic riff, based on which we are building our song's instrumental structure and arrangements. Once this is completed lyrics with vocal arrangements are created. Then the rest is being done in the demo recording or directly in the studio.
Seventh question
Who are some of your favorite bands? At the beginning we were floating on the Metalcore wave a lot, so bands like: Bullet for my Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, All that Remains, Bring me the horizon... Later on: Him, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle Of Filth, Judas Priest. Nowadays, there are a huge amount of bands across genres, so there are a lot of them.
Eighth question
What kind of legacy do you want to leave?
We would like to make a mark in music history and to be remembered for our musicianship. Last but not least to make people happy and help them through their struggles with our songs.

New interview with band Synapsyche
https://youtu.be/f_JOHaQBn2w?si=VmPFx... is their latest music video !
Here are the answers from Marco
What was the inspiration behind your band name?
We wanted a band name with 2 main features: short and that could summarize our lyrical concepts. One day in 2009, after many beers in the dead of night, Marco and Stefano found this union between “synapsis” (the electrical structure between neurons and cell) which gives a scientific and electricity-based theme, and “psyche”, that adds a mental and emotional topic to the idea of the band. We are very proud of our name, we think it fits perfectly with our sound (old and new) and our lyrics.
Are you self taught or did you go to school for music?
Stefano has a long past in conservatory when he was a kid, and there he learned to play piano, clarinet and all the music theory. Later he studied bass guitar, playing with Marco both in a rock band and in a metalcore ensemble. Finally, he studied to become a sound engineer to become a sound mixer and producer. Marco's story is simpler: he took clean singing lessons for a couple of years and he learned to play guitar self-taught, during the rock and metal bands' years. The harsh vocals are self-taught.
Who is your dream person to collaborate with and why?
Some dreams have already fulfilled, collaborating with Chris Harms of Lord Of The Lost and Daniel Graves of Aesthetic Perfection. In the future, we'd love to have featuring clean vocals from Sven Friedrich of Solar Fake or Chris Pohl of Blutengel, or even Ronan Harris of VNV Nation. But also, some harsh vocals from Nero Bellum of Psyclon Nine or Kristof Bathory of Dawn Of Ashes could be great. These are the top vocalists that could add something new and cool to our new songs in the future, but the impossible dream is to have Dave Gahan or Till Lindemann! After these 2 featuring singers, we could happily stop!
Do you see yourself touring the USA anytime?
Very very unlikely. If you want the truth, it's very unlikely to us to even tour Europe, even if we are Italian. Costs for a tour (also as a support band) have become impractical for a small project like ours, especially here in Italy where there's no helping to musicians at all, booking agencies take all the revenue and merch prints force bands to sell items at very expensive prices, with ultra-low gains obviously. Moreover, as you may have guessed, we don't live with our music, we both have a regular job which takes most of our time, a family to care and we are already almost middle-aged people. If we could be younger and jobless, we would lose money more willingly!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
We are inspired by everything that can gives us emotions, not only musicians. Think about works by Giger and Escher, Leonardo Da Vinci, movies by David Lynch or Aronofsky... How couldn't an artist being inspired by any other great artist before him? And musically of course, our first inspiration was Grendel, especially “Harsh Generation” and “Timewave Zero”, then we expanded our horizons to the synthpop of VNV Nation, but we are also fans of classical music and rock/metal, and all of this goes, willingly or not, into our music.
What is your song writing process?
We write simultaneously. While Stefano composes some melodies and riffs, Marco writes lines, rhymes and the concept for the next songs. When Stefano finished his parts for a song (or half a song sometimes), he sends his ideas to Marco: he then adapts some of his lyrics and the song’s basic skeleton is done. Few adjustments and Marco is ready to record his vocals at Stefano’s studios. Here the mix starts, and when it satisfies the whole band we send everything to master, always curated by Stefano.
Who are some of your favorite bands?
Excluding the bands that we mentioned before, our music tastes are very wide. Stefano is the electro-head of the band, and his favourite bands are Grendel, Aesthetic Perfection, VNV Nation. He also love some metal, punk (post and rock) and classical music (his favourite composer is Bach). Marco is a metalhead and he loves Cradle Of Filth, In Flames, Nightwish, Lord Of The Lost, but also rock bands as HIM, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Placebo, electronic music as Depeche Mode and even pop (Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson over all).
What kind of legacy do you want to leave?
We are awake we can't reach out everyone, but even if it is small, we want to leave an imprint of our musical passage in this world, and we are very grateful and satisfied when people tell us they enjoyed our music and sometimes even helped them with their troubles. We slowly change our sound from album to album because our tastes change too, but there's a message behind that remains the same. Live fully, deeply, leave a good trace and be useful, helpful, and respectful, not just a total waste of organic matter. Being bad people is very easy (we always tell their stories) but there's a way out. Use your brain and be happy!
