Today, one of my mentees in India sent me a photo of a flower she picked—just because she knows how much I love flowers. 🥹

It may seem like a small thing, but it reminded me why I do what I do. Mentoring isn’t just about career guidance or job placements; it’s about connection, kindness, and those quiet, human moments that cross oceans and time zones.

I just wanted to pop in and say a big thank you for your continued love, support, and engagement—it truly means the world to me. 💛

This week, I won’t be uploading a new video.

Life behind the scenes has been full—between navigating some transitions, preparing for new adventures, and taking care of personal and family matters, I’ve had to pause, reflect, and simply catch my breath. As much as I love creating content for this amazing community, I’ve learned it’s also important to honour moments of rest.

I’m honestly still in shock — 10,000 of you have joined this vision! Diaspora Doodles started as a diary to help teachers who look like me access international teaching opportunities and change the face of education abroad. It is also a nod to parents bringing up 3rd culture children far away from home and support.

This platform is about more than jobs — it’s about showing students that the world is full of people who look, sound, and live differently whilst helping our own children stay grounded in our culture despite being so far away from the ‘village’. During our recent “Thank You to Our Subscribers” livestream celebrating one year of streaming, @omo-space and I each selected a participant from the live chat and one from our membership groups to benefit from our 1:1 mentoring program for free. So far, only Faqih has attended the mentoring sessions regularly.

I’m still waiting to hear from Vivian, who was chosen from my Diaspora Doodlers membership group.

Despite reaching out via email and other channels, I haven’t been able to connect with her.
