On Pump.fun, a platform specifically designed to simplify token launches, an estimated 98.7% of all tokens created exhibited clear characteristics of pump-and-dump schemes, collapsing into worthlessness shortly after launch.
On Raydium, one of Solana's largest decentralized exchanges, analysis of 388,000 liquidity pools found that approximately 93% displayed "soft rug pull characteristics," where initial liquidity was abruptly withdrawn.
This isn't just occasional fraud - it's systematic scamming at an industrial scale. Solana's architecture, while excellent for legitimate applications, has inadvertently created what experts call a "Scam-as-a-Utility" environment.
Also, research shows 30-60% of pre-sale crypto token projects launched in the past 18-24 months could be classified as scams or rug pulls. I believe that is much higher based on what I have seen and I think the data will show that eventually. I think its closer to 90% or higher. I invested small amounts in a few, which was part of what led me to set this site up. Stay safe people and DYOR!
