First off, it's my birthday, I'm lucky enough to have reached the age of 45 today, it would be lovely if you Fryers could join me in the live chat this evening and say hi! Also - this is a response to someone else's video so if you have time it would be good of you could watch ‪@AngelinaJosephine77‬'s video first, so you get the gist of her argument. Of course we all know a LOT of successful female guitarists and that’s something I’m going to cover in my video response, Angelina is of a different generation and she hasn’t yet discovered some of these amazing players. But - Fundamentally I think she's right, even though we do have a lot of outstanding female players, I don’t see many of them listed as anyone's ‘guitar hero’ and sadly even I don’t have any of them in my top 5, even though I would say someone like Orianthi is a better player than Slash. But…she wasn’t in Guns n Roses. She is a FAR better player than Kurt Cobain but she didn’t write a song like Smells Like Teen Spirit. I think we do need to think and talk about why women don’t seem to attain the same legendary status as men in the guitar world. I'd love you all to join the chat later and let me know your thoughts!
