Colin Roberts is a visual artist whose art consists of sculpture and painting that mix themes of surrealism and pop culture with light and architecture. The work evokes imagery from past and present and obscures it in strange and fantastical ways. Roberts plays with stretching boundaries between the absurd and profound. Transparent Pillows and Dinosaurs that reflect light like a disco, Bubblewrap Cubes and giant Nightmare Pillow Monsters are some of the strange, dreamlike creations that make up Roberts’ vast body of work. Imagery and concepts from an array of sources combined with constant exploration of materials and techniques allows the work to cross significant cultural, social and psychic boundaries.
Colin’s work is exhibited internationally and is in numerous collections worldwide. He graduated from Otis School of Art and Design and resides in Los Angeles, CA.
