One day, Mulla Nasruddin was sitting in his village feeling worried and unhappy. When a friend asked him what was wrong, Mulla complained that he had too many problems and that nothing ever seemed to go right in his life. His friend smiled and advised him to change just one thought: instead of thinking, “Nothing good ever happens to me,” he should think, “Something good can happen today.” Mulla decided to follow this advice and began looking at his day with a more positive attitude. Soon afterward, while walking along the road, he found a lost purse and returned it to its grateful owner, who rewarded him generously. Mulla realized that although changing one thought seemed like a small thing, it had changed the way he viewed his day and helped him notice opportunities around him. From then on, he tried to replace negative thoughts with hopeful and positive ones. The story teaches us that our thoughts have great power: a single positive thought can change our mood, influence our actions, open our minds to possibilities, and ultimately make a meaningful difference in our lives.

One day, Mulla Nasruddin received an invitation from the Emperor to attend a royal dinner. Mulla happily accepted the invitation but cleverly asked whether he should come on foot or bring his horse. The Emperor replied that Mulla could come on foot, but he should bring his horse along. On the day of the dinner, Mulla rode his horse toward the palace. When a palace guard stopped him and questioned why he was riding when he had been invited on foot, Mulla calmly explained that the Emperor had specifically told him to bring his horse. The guard was confused, but when the Emperor heard about Mulla’s clever response, he laughed heartily and appreciated Mulla’s wit. The story teaches us that intelligence, humor, and clever thinking can help us handle confusing or difficult situations with confidence and grace.
