Teaching, learning, and chatting about everything cat. Cat behavior for both the cat owner and pet sitter. We're looking at life with cats, cat lifestyles, and how to make everyone's home and job a lot more enjoyable.
It was a warm summer day when you appeared in my backyard. A tiny meow barely audible, fearful, scared and confused. No one knew who you were, where you came from, or how you got here. I posted your picture in several local Facebook groups and no one came forward to claim you. But you were forever scared.
I fed you, built you a warm house under the Maple tree and kept an eye on you. You also kept a wary eye on me. Never comin close enough to be petted, keeping your distance over the years. Some how you knew you would be looked after, even on cold winter days.
Then one day it happened(Feb. 2017). You limped from your warm house to the food bowl. You had been injured. With the help from Lucky Paws and a Havahart Trap, we got you much needed veterinary care. After several weeks, a healed paw you were ready to be returned to your wild home. But, you decided stay. As I placed you on the ground outside the backdoor, you sprinted inside my house and laid under the table. So, with that decision made, you stayed awhile with me. We had nearly 8 years together. It seems like just yesterday.
These last few months have been very difficult for both of us. But as days and weeks moved by more and more your health concerns revealed themselves. Bladder stones, lung scaring or lung damage from disease, bad reactions to various medications, even reactions to prescription flea medication and finally an intestinal obstruction from what we are believing to be a tumor/cyst.
The options were not good. A exploratory abdominal surgery at the big emergency veterinary office with no guarantee it would be worth the effort to resect things. You, Maple my love, have been through so much in your little time on this earth. It was with a very heavy heart the decision was made to send you over the Rainbow. Your worldly suffering and fear is over.
Marriot is out with their financial numbers this morning and very much like Hilton last week, budget end of the business is down while luxury end is up. Again this reinforces where you should be spending your advertising dollars in the pet sitting business. x.com/FrogNews/status/1785633913697620077
I called to get behavior advice about introducing my resident cat to new kittens. They were able to help me pretty quickly and the advice was great. Would recommend for cat sitting and behavior advice any day! Such a great place. If I ever need a cat sitter, they'd be my first call now.

A Message from Your Furry Friend (AKA the Boss)
Meow, human!
While you're busy running around taking care of us, don't forget to care for yourself! Here’s what you need to remember:
Feed yourself! We’re not the only ones who need snacks, you know. Keep your energy up for all those belly rubs and playtime!
Drink your water! You can’t keep up with us if you're dehydrated. Hydration is key!
Rest, human! I know it’s hard, but remember to take breaks. I’ll hold down the fort while you recharge.
Stay safe, human. The holidays are busy, but don’t forget your own well-being!

And at this time in the economy when one hears all the complaints of 'bad' service...luxury stands out and is rewarded.
