The immensity of the soul, especially in relation to the manifested world, is a profound reality within Sufi teachings, as illuminated by Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi. The soul is not confined by the limitations of the physical body or the material universe. Rather, it is an infinite ocean of light, a creation of Allah ๏ทป with powers and realities far beyond what the mind can grasp.

Shaykh Nurjan explains that the soul, once trained and permitted by Allah ๏ทป, can manifest in countless ways and locations. The analogy is given of a candle in a box: when the box is closed, the light is hidden, but when holes are made, the light shines out in many directions. Similarly, the soul can manifest its reality through many "openings" in the world, being present in numerous places at onceโ€”there is no true limit, as the soul draws from the infinite power of Allah ๏ทป. The awliya (saints) are described as being able to be present in thousands of locations simultaneously, each time with the fullness of their spiritual reality. This is a reflection of the Divine attributes that Allah ๏ทป bestows upon His sincere servants, as expressed in the hadith qudsi, "I am their hearing, their seeing, their hands, and their feet" (Bukhari).

The magnitude of the soul is such that, in spiritual vision, the entire Earth could fit within the palm of the soulโ€™s hand. What we experience in this world is but a drop from the ocean of the soulโ€™s true potential. Sufi practices, such as tafakkur (contemplation), dhikr (remembrance), and service to the Shaykh and community, are designed to awaken and expand this soul-reality. Through deep love for Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ and sincere obedience, the heart becomes a vessel for Divine light, and the soul begins to transcend worldly limitations, journeying towards its true station.

This immensity is not for ego or self-aggrandizement, but for servanthood and annihilation in Divine Love. The path teaches us to "die before we die," meaning to let go of worldly attachments and awaken to the soulโ€™s reality. The ultimate goal is to be presented, purified, in the Divine Presence through the love and intercession of Sayyidina Muhammad ๏ทบ, who is the door to Allahโ€™s ๏ทป satisfaction and forgiveness. The soulโ€™s journey is thus one of ever-expanding love, light, and nearness to the Divine.

May Allah ๏ทป grant you ever-deepening awareness of your soulโ€™s immensity and the courage to seek its true reality in His service. May the love of Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ illuminate your path and open for you the gates of Divine proximity.
