PSA: Never get between 2 dogs when they are fighting! Speaking from repeat experience.
I had to write this with only one hand because my left arm is swollen and very painful right now. Thankfully I was wearing my thick winter chicken jacket because otherwise I would be in the ER getting stitches instead of a nasty bruise.
Iām hoping Iāll still be able to stream tomorrow, and Iāll explain more about this situation then. Thankfully itās nothing serious and Iām going to be alright, and my dogs will be fine as well.
Keep yourself safe, keep your animals safe, and remember the best way to stay safe is by avoiding putting yourself in danger to begin with. If danger is unavoidable then you need to learn how to deal with the consequences safely and keep your calm under pressure.
Ok, I have to get back to the work I was so rudely interrupted from, bye now š
I just had my best livestream ever today! Thanks to everyone who joined in and a huge thanks to Joseph Johnson for his support and all the people who got a gifted membership!
This was an experimental stream, so I had no expectations for it, but it single handedly broke all my records for all past livestreams! You always have to try new things because you never know whatās gonna work better than anything youāve ever done before!
Iām going to build on this momentum and try to edit a short tonight (members get early access to new videos š) So hopefully that does well too!
All that aside now, I have a full barrel of feed and the hens were so happy to get some beautifully fresh ground feed, and the geese were happy to have a nice pond this afternoon. The weather is great right now so all the birds are doing amazing!
Also my eye infection still stings a lot, but I should recover lol, Iāve been through worse and Iām treating it so it should heal soon!
Thatās all for now, have a great rest of your day!
When one hen intrudes on another in the layboxes, one of two things happens. If one hen is more dominant, it will kick the less dominant hen out of the box, but if both hens are of a similar dominance on the pecking order, they avoid fighting and lay together instead!
Hereās some flock news and also Iām going LIVE for the next 4 days after today!
The vets prescribed some antibiotic pills because my flock has caught an infectious bacteria, and now I have to feed all 20 chickens their meds 3 times a day for 5 days! Thatās 300 pills to swallow! Iāll be live streaming it every morning to make the mundane process more fun.
This bacterial disease is what Elvis passed from and likely whatās causing a drop in eggs right now, so it will be great to cure it!
Also, after brooding for a month and being kicked out of the nest every single day to keep her healthy peanut has finally given up brooding on her own! I still have some videos from when she was broody that Iāll upload EVENTUALLY. . .
Thatās my little update for today, hope youāre all having a great day! Bye!

This will just a trial run to start, but if people enjoy it enough, then Iāll probably try a few more in the future. Iām still trying to figure out my groove when it comes to content creation, so Iām trying to experiment to see what things people enjoy and whatās I can make sustainably long term. My hope is I can make a nice variety of content that people can enjoy.
Hope youāve all had a great day today! Iāve been dealing with a cold for a few days but Iāve finally been feeling well enough to start editing a little bit again, and after sundown I was watching the Aurora out tonight. Itās rare to see such a big one so I was excited.
Happy Halloween! I hope youāre all enjoying this spooky day, and stay safe if youāre going out!
Today was a great Halloween livestream, thanks to everyone who joined in! I dressed up as a pumpkin ghost and carved pumpkins with the hens! Now I have to edit a video I made giving Bridget tiny pumpkins!

Ooh, somebodies been plucking out their belly feathers in the nest box! I think this means one of my hens wants to go broody!
I donāt think they are peanuts feathers, so we may get a new brooder this spring.
