When I first heard Phir Se Naina Bhare from Dhurandhar 2, I couldn't stop thinking about it. There was something in the melody that felt unfinished. Like grief returning when you thought you'd finally made peace with it.
I started with the original melody, but I didn't want to simply recreate it on the violin. I wanted to follow the emotion wherever it wanted to go.
So I kept the soul of the song intact while allowing the violin to wander, answer, question, and occasionally lose itself before finding its way back home.
Along the way, I introduced a few improvised phrases and melodic detours inspired by the music I grew up listening to.I spent far more time on this than I planned!
There were moments during the final mix where I genuinely had to stop and take a breath. By the end, I wasn't listening to a cover anymore. I was listening to my own conversation with the song!
