Our movies focus on our relationship to a very special yellow teacup parrot named Soleil who has taught us so much about how to listen and understand.
Because teacup parrots are so common and inexpensive, people have assumed they aren't as intelligent as their larger, more expensive cousins.
However, we have learned that this is not so. Soleil has taught us many cues for her needs and her reactions. These cues have been repeated over and over again, indicating to us that she not only knows what he wants but is able to learn how to indicate those specific wants to us. She tells us when she is happy or angry or frightened. There is no mistaking it. She tells us when she wants to play and what kind of game she wants. She tells us when she wants to go downstairs or upstairs in our house.
She has also learned our language and often understands what games we want to play and our emotional tones.
Soleil has shown us her incredible capacity for joy and love and this has inspired us.
