Hi, I’m Sonia!
Welcome! This isn’t your typical yoga channel. Here, you’ll learn how to do yoga poses with a focus on alignment, precision, and therapeutic benefits. My classes offer support for back pain, anxiety, sleep issues, and more, while helping you deepen your practice beyond flow yoga. Using the Iyengar method, I’ll guide you toward feeling stronger, more balanced, and healthier—both physically and mentally.
About Me:

If I could go back in time, and start my yoga journey all over again, I'd start with this class! https://youtu.be/2NmtpBM6UwQ?si=NxMJq...
If you have ever felt lost in a yoga class, if you are a complete beginner, if you are stiff or have knee or back pain, start here. It is simple, effective, gentle yet a bit challenging, enough to push you towards the most common yoga goals: strength, flexibility and a calm and clear mind. Don't worry about fancy transitions, flowing, balancing... This is the basics. And basics are what a sustainable yoga practice is built on.

Yoga practice should not cause knee or back pain. In fact it can and should improve those conditions. If you struggle with these common pains, learning proper alignment can make all the difference.

Today's class is dynamic flow of movement that builds core strength, connecting the actions of the abs to the back and hips in all of 10 minutes. Great practice for beginners, but also for anyone wanting to work toward more advanced yoga poses like backbends or inversions.

Balancing poses in yoga can be challenging for a variety of reasons. It helps to remember a couple of things: 1.Increasing flexibility along with strength can help increase our ability to balance on one foot, or our hands or our head! 2.Balance shifts from day to day! 3.Even if you can't balance in the yoga pose, by practicing you develop better balance in life, physically, mentally and emotionally! And that is the theme for this video: https://youtu.be/UYMsao_jE68?si=miRaO...

Third and final part of the Sciatica Relief video is up now. We are adding standing poses for strength and stability: https://youtu.be/G6WED9dx08w
Friends with sciatic and chronic low back pain, this is for you. Now that you have all three parts, I HIGHLY recommend doing al three classes back to back, for a complete 30 min experience. Skip any pose that is not accessible for you now and with time you'll get there.

Take an active part in your own healing journey, you're the best person for the job! You've heard that yoga can help with back pain. You've probably even tried it. But maybe it was not the right fit, maybe it didn't work. In these videos I am breaking down poses that have been tried and tested. On me! and many of my students. Iyengar Yoga is unique in its precision and therapeutic benefits. This is not a one-time fix. But a practice that you can and should repeat, modify, progress. It works. Part two of the three part series for Sciatica: https://youtu.be/FWqDPVyqr7k?si=9B421... and make sure you do part one as these poses build upon each other for a complete system. Sciatica and chronic low back pain! If you have felt that sharp pain down your leg or a constant ache in your back and hips, you know how much it can take over your life.
The video below is the practice that go me through it. Actually it is part one, of the poses that helped me. I have broken down these videos because it works much better to practice the first group for a few days, then progress to the next. (Part 2 and three coming next)
Iyengar Yoga, in my experience, is the best practice to help with back issues and injuries. But its not a one time fix. You have to commit and invest in your well-being. And I certainly think it will pay off for you as it has for me.
