About a dozen or so people told me how they “Wished they could write songs”. It turns out they never started.
A song is basically a story and EVERYONE has a story. For me, I often write about the human condition, what we do, or don’t do to one another, or where we are in our life. If it’s not where we want to be, then how do we start the process of change?
The other night I laid in bed trying to get to sleep. I was losing that battle and after a while, realized I should just get up and start writing. I didn’t have a song in mind, but knew if nothing came about, I’d at least be tired enough to sleep. Within an hour, this song was written. Sometimes we just have to START.
