I'm still not doing all that great and I’ve been struggling to feel like making any more videos
I’m painfully aware of all the encouraging comments that I’ve received up till now, especially on the last video, and they’ve always meant a lot to me, so it would fill me with more shame than you could know if I were to give up
I really feel like I’ve been on my last legs for some time now as Jo-ha-Q, and I guess the removal of my proudest/most well-received video on here, along with all the kind comments that went with it, basically feels like the final straw for me
I haven’t stopped discovering/compiling songs that I enjoy, and I have plenty to choose from, so it would be neat if I could muster the will to share them in a video again
I just don’t know when/if that will happen, so I’m sorry
Hey y'all, I hope it's been a nice day for you so far. I accidentally made my recent video public when I meant to keep it unlisted, although soon after I actually decided to make it public anyway. But because I didn't realize my mistake right away, many of you must be very confused as to what the video is supposed to be about. I have posted a comment explaining the context, which might make the video less funny to watch (assuming it was funny to watch in the first place, I sure hope so lol), but at least it'll make a bit more sense. Anyway, a very special mix coming this weekend, and now that I'm all but finished with my uni studies, I'm trying to dedicate as much time as I can to finishing this big ol' edit I've been working on. I should have that released by summertime. Much love y'all, take care.

It’s a burden that I want to get rid of, but I also want it to be my best work by far that represents how much I appreciate both the experience of having made these edits and the people that have enjoyed watching them. I’m trying to incorporate a staggeringly unprecedented number of visual sources, and the nature of the song I’m using entails (for me, anyway) the most meticulous editing by far. I’ve grown so frustrated with my lack of progress (I’ll refrain from going into boring editing specifics) that I’ve become prone to going for weeks without even opening the project, and as the months have gone by, I’ve begun to think that I’ve lost my touch, that the finished edit will fail to surpass my past work or even match it, that people won’t even like the song because of how relatively different it is. There are way more people that watch my videos now compared to pre-“just friends”, and I’m really scared that I will fail to meet their expectations.
For the past few months now, I’ve been avoiding it entirely. But nine months later I still mean it when I say that I want y’all to see this edit someday, that I don’t want this channel to inevitably end without completing it. I probably am washed up, and I’ve seen some edits by others that are unlike anything I could ever hope to make. I still want to do my best, though. I owe it to y’all. The thing is, I have discovered a track recently that I would really love to make an edit for. I don't think it's as fitting for a final edit as this other track though, so I'm hoping that after making this one, I'll be able to come back to the final edit with renewed inspiration. I don't know how long this new edit is going to take to finish, but I have a good feeling I'll be able to make much better progress. Well, I guess that's about it. Hope that all kinda made sense. I have decided on all the anime that I’ll probably use for the final edit, so now I’m in the stage of downloading/converting it all, and I should be able to start editing soon. That being said, considering the magnitude of this project and the ever-growing burdens of my personal life, I don’t expect to have this finished for at least another few months. In the meantime (and for as long as I can after I’ve finished it), I intend to keep publishing mixes. I know everyone would rather see an edit every month, but this is how I can continue to share music that I love without getting stressed out. I hope you dig what you hear. As always, thank you. After much deliberation (and partly because I just rewatched Bakemonogatari), I have finally decided to re-enable the comments on the “just friends” edit. I don’t think anyone would be interested in reading a long-winded explanation of why I had disabled them (and frankly I’d rather not have to type it all out), but considering that it has been one of my proudest/well-received works, in retrospect I regret that decision. No matter how distasteful some people can be, it was wrong of me to prohibit the opportunity for anyone to leave their thoughts on the video. After all, that’s what makes the work worth it to me: to be able to read the responses from those that experienced an emotional resonance to the music, visuals, or hopefully both. Especially with that edit. So if you have some thoughts you’d like to share, please feel free to do so. I’d be glad to read them. As always, thank you. Peace.
As I’m going through all of these anime OPs, I’m starting to realize that I genuinely want to get back into anime. I guess I’m getting nostalgic. Maybe not with the emphasis that I used to place on it, but gradually I want to check out all the shows that have piqued my interest over the years. That being said, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone that has taken the time to watch the “Welcome to the Disco” edit, which has now exceeded 1 million views. That is the edit I am most proud of, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little emotional at the overwhelming reception it has gotten. I’m going to dedicate the utmost effort to making this final edit the ultimate representation of how much your support means to me. Thank you. Peace.
I just found out that Satoshi Kon's Paranoia Agent is finally getting a Blu-ray release this year and I am beyond happy. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it! Kon was one of the most imaginative and influential filmmakers of his generation, and is one of my all time favorites. His work has been a huge influence on me in terms of editing, but I've always been hesitant to use his visuals in an edit as the editing is already phenomenal, and I've never felt capable of doing his work justice through my own editing. However, I think I'll finally pay him a long overdue tribute in this final edit. Hope I can pull it off. Thank you for reading, have a good one. Peace.

Hey all, sorry for bombarding your feed with posts, but a user suggested that I could take suggestions for visuals to potentially use in the final edit. I think it would make the project more meaningful, as I would try to incorporate your favorite OPs and whatnot. So if you know of any visuals that I haven't already used, feel free to reply with your idea. I can't guarantee it'll be included, but I will make sure to check out whatever you suggest. I'm looking for any visuals (even a one-second shot) that are vibrant, with a distinct art style. I avoid stuff that looks flat and uninspired (looking at you, most shounen/rom com OPs.) I'll be doing plenty of searching over the next couple months, and I'll post an update once I've gathered enough. I really want this edit to be something special. Thanks for reading. Peace.
I recently discovered a song that is so unbelievably deserving of an edit that if I could go back in time and choose to use all the visuals for the Yung Bae/Macross 82-99 edits for this song instead, I would do it in a heartbeat. It's THAT perfect. But alas, I'm way too late. Maybe if I spent a few hours a day scouring the Internet for every anime OP/ED ever made I might be able to eventually amass enough great visuals to make this ultimate edit, but it could turn out to be an utter waste of time. I guess if SamuraiHacks were to ever put out another full-length edit, I might feel motivated to undertake my final yee-haw. Until then, I'll keep uploading mixes, because I like doing that.
I realize this post is kind of redundant so I'll probably delete it later but I just had to vent a little. If you're reading this, I hope life is treating you well. Peace.
