Hi there, I'm Paul, and I am a music producer / sound designer and live in Munich. Together with my friend Michael Miller who is a musician / media creative from Munich we write in-depth gear posts and create YouTube videos.
Hi Everyone, I've just uploaded my last Short for this year and am wrapping up the Channel for winter break. I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year 2024. Thank y'all for supporting my channel and viewing my videos! I'll be back in January with some fresh new content.
Today I want to share with you some pictures of my very first Electric! It's a JS Series by Aria Pro II (JS-3, actually), I stumbled upon it when I went through the cellar actually looking for something else :) I think I got this in late '91 along with a Boss DS-1 and a no name transistor guitar amp. I wonder where the Spinal Tap sticker came from, I only got to see the movie way way back later sometime in the late 2000s. I do remember listening to Tesla quite a bit back then, they were somewhat of a departure from the Metal stuff I was listening to in 1990 but not yet Grunge. In picture 5 you can see my "Kutte" as we say in Germany, from roughly that time, anybody know what these are called in English? Do you have any fond memories of your first electric?
Hey Everyone, I'm in Frankfurt over the weekend and stopped by at Cream Music. This place has a rich history: One of the shop's customers back in the days was Elvis when he was serving in the U.S. Army as a member of the 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 32rd Armour in Friedberg near Frankfurt. However, the shop owner told me that Elvis never actually entered the shop, instead he had his entourage handing him guitars into his car since he didn't want to be publicly seen in Frankfurt's red light district. Elvis' father later did buy a guitar in the shop, so there has been a Presley at Cream Music :) While the whole red light district part of the story adds a nice folkloristic touch to the story, there is a rather sad present day twist to the whole thing. In an odd combination of gentrification and inner city decay that's probably unique to Frankfurts central district, the shop had to move from its original location to Sachsenhausen as they couldn't afford the rising rent, while at the same time drug addicts at the doorsteps scared off customers. If you are in Frankfurt be sure to stop by, Cream Music isn't the biggest fish in the local guitar retail pond (that would be Session Music), but there's loads to discover and they are well stocked on Ibanez guitars (Semi-Hollows in particular).

Got this Lego Fender Stratocaster set for birthday. Would you build the red or the black Strat (set contains only one loaded pick guard :)?

Unfortunately I won't be able to release a Short today as I'm currently rearranging the off-camera area of my man-cave :)
