Hi, hey, hello! I'm Kate, a soon-to-be hybrid author!
For the past few years, I've been making YouTube videos for the authortube community, such as:
- daily NaNoWriMo vlogs,
- an "I Tried Writing Like..." video series where I test out the routines of popular authors,
- monthly writing experiments, ranging from 24-Hour Write-A-Thons to trying to write a screenplay for the first time,
- livestreams with writing sprints,
- honest chats like being scared to say I'm a writer, querying failures, and sharing when my story gets the best of me,
- & a lot more!
Sometimes I also post travel vlogs & booktube content (like my personal favorite series, Cooking With Classics, where I analyze classic novels and discuss how writing and books have changed over time!).

Together, we wrote over 3,500,000 words in November!!! Thank you to everyone who participated in our TrackBear challenge. Even though it wasn't quite the drafting month I'd hoped for personally, it was SO encouraging to see everyone's progress. :) CAN YOU BELIEVE WE DID THAT? MILLIONS OF WORDS!!!
(Shout out to our team members that tracked through other methods. Together we also logged 230 hours, 267 pages, 76 chapters, and 69 scenes.)

A visual representation of how my prep is going for NaNo 2.0! I have the Prologue and Day 1 completely outlined for the ~Cruise Mystery~ and am working to add in more clues for Day 2. Fingers crossed I'll finish the remaining 6 Days before Preptober is over. 🌊
ALSO! I created a TrackBear for November if anyone wants to join. I thought it would be fun to have teams, too, so I came up with some based on random animal & color combos bahaha. You can track whatever you want, but the graph will show team progress based on 50,000 words and/or 30 hours of work across the 30 days of November. Very excited to see which animal/color "wins." It's been a while, but I'm BACK with another 5K Friday stream!!! This time will be a little different since I'm in the midst of editing THANKS FOR WATCHING. So my goal is a little different: I'll be streaming until I completely edit 5 scenes. (Which, looking at the next 5 scenes I have to work on, will encompass 10,045 words!)
And as always, I'll try to get an extra 5,000 steps in. Probably early in the morning or once the sun sets. It's still very hot here in San Antonio.

I'll be on the road during half of this challenge -- AGAIN, lol -- but I'm so excited to participate. It really helped me to have that goal of just 1,000 words and I really enjoyed the snippets within the book itself. Can't recommend it enough to help kickstart a daily habit or just check in with yourself and your writing!! :)
