Hey everyone! Hallo zusammen!
I’m Kara and welcome to my channel, Bairn and a Backpack. 'Bairn' is a Scottish word for ‘child’ and I am mum to a two year old toddler called Ben and I really enjoy taking to the mountains in my free time with him on my back, hence the name of my channel.
As with all toddlers, Ben is adorable and incredibly active and is also growing up speaking two languages as my husband, Thomas, comes from southern Germany.
On my channel, you'll find videos about being outdoors and travelling with a toddler, Montessori inspired and respectful parenting, activity and craft ideas and raising a bilingual child.

Hallo! We've had so much happening this week, personally and professionally, and we decided to go up to the north of Scotland this weekend for some much-needed family outdoor time!
