안녕하세요! 모두 잘 지내셨나요?
제 채널이 중단된 지도 어느덧 8개월이 되었습니다. (시간 빠르죠? 하하)
그동안 제 채널은 실제 미성년자가 등장하지 않는 애니메이션 채널임에도 불구하고
‘미성년자가 등장하는 위험하고 성적인 콘텐츠’라는 사유로 중단되었습니다.
여러 차례 문의와 소명을 했지만 제 의견은 받아들여지지 않았고
구체적인 이유조차 들을 수 없었습니다.
(여기까지가 그동안 여러분께 전해드렸던 상황이었어요.)

그러다 최근 1:1 상담을 진행할 수 있는 기회가 있었고
아주 많은 대화를 나눈 끝에 이제야 어느 정도 결론에 도달하게 되었습니다.

유튜브 측에서는 정확한 사유를 명시해 주지는 않았지만
상담 내용을 종합해 추론해 보면 모얌 캐릭터 자체를 ‘미성년자’로 규정하고 있었습니다.
그로 인해 모얌의 모험 = 미성년자가 지속적으로 위험에 처하는 상황으로 인식되었고
결과적으로 ‘미성년자가 등장하는 위험·성적인 콘텐츠’로 판단된 것입니다.

유튜브 측의 설명에 따르면
동물 캐릭터, 미생물 캐릭터, 괴물 캐릭터 등
나이를 명확히 알 수 없는 캐릭터라 하더라도
정책상 미성년자로 분류될 수 있다고 하더군요.

이러한 정책은 상당히 모호하게 안내되어 있었고
저 역시 다년간 모얌 캐릭터로 채널을 운영해 왔기에
이 부분이 문제가 될 거라고는 전혀 생각하지 못했습니다. 하하…

유튜브는 저에게 즐거움이기도 했지만 동시에 생계와 직접적으로 연결된 일이었습니다.
사전 경고나 주의 없이 하루아침에 채널이 중단되었고
유튜버라는 직업 특성상 다른 수입원을 바로 마련하기도 어려워
수익을 받지 못한 지난 9개월 동안 생활은 많이 힘들어졌습니다.

현재 제게 남은 선택지는 두 가지입니다.

1. 모얌이 등장하는 모든 영상을 삭제한다.
(이 경우 앞으로도 모얌은 더 이상 등장할 수 없습니다.)
2. 채널은 그대로 두되, 개인적으로 유튜브 활동을 중단한다.

그동안 여러분께서 보내주신 응원과 여러 해결 방안 제안도 모두 읽어보았지만
현실적으로 남은 선택지는 이 두 가지뿐인 상황입니다.

추가로 많이 물어보셨던 부분도 정리해 드리면
-“부채널은 안 되나요?” → 계정 우회로 간주되어 전부 정지
-“채널 설명에 미성년자가 아니라고 명시하고 연령 제한을 걸면 안 되나요?”
→ 이미 콘텐츠 자체가 정책 위반으로 판단되어 충분하지 않다고 합니다.

모얌 캐릭터는 다년간 정말 많은 시간과 애정을 들여 만든 존재라 저에게도 각별한 캐릭터입니다. 모얌이 등장한 모든 영상을 삭제하자니 여러분과의 추억도 저 자신의 기억도 함께 사라지는 것 같아 마음이 무겁고 그렇다고 그대로 두자니 현재의 생계가 너무 막막한 상황입니다.

채널 정지에 대한 의문 자체는 어느 정도 풀렸지만 앞으로 무엇을 어떻게 해야 할지는 아직 전혀 갈피를 잡지 못하고 있습니다.

이 글을 쓰게 된 이유는
여전히 저를 기다려 주시고 해결책을 고민해 주시는 분들께 현재 상황을 정확히 공유드리기 위함이며 혹시라도 같은 이유로 정지당하신 애니메이션 유튜버 분들이나 앞으로 애니메이션 유튜버를 준비하시는 분들께 조금이나마 참고가 되었으면 하는 마음 때문입니다.

Hello everyone! How have you all been?
It’s already been about 8 months since my channel was suspended. (Time really flies, right? Haha)

Even though my channel is an animation channel that does not feature any real minors,
it was suspended under the reason of
“dangerous and sexual content involving minors.”

I submitted multiple inquiries and appeals, but my explanations were never accepted,
and I wasn’t even told the specific reason behind the decision.
(This is the situation I had shared with you all up until now.)

Recently, however, I finally had an opportunity to receive a 1:1 consultation,
and after many long conversations, I was able to reach some kind of conclusion.

While YouTube did not clearly state the exact reason,
based on what was indirectly explained during the consultation,
it seems that the Moyam character itself was classified as a ‘minor.’
As a result, Moyam’s adventures were interpreted as
a situation where a minor is continuously placed in danger,
and the content was ultimately judged as
“dangerous and sexual content involving minors.”

According to YouTube’s explanation,
even characters such as animals, microorganisms, or monsters—
whose ages cannot be clearly identified—
can still be classified as minors under their policies.

Because these policies are explained very vaguely,
and because I had been running the channel with the Moyam character for many years,
I never imagined this could become an issue. Haha…

YouTube was not only a source of joy for me,
but also something directly connected to my livelihood.
Without any prior warning or notice, my channel was suddenly suspended,
and due to the nature of being a YouTuber,
it was difficult to immediately find alternative sources of income.
As a result, the past 9 months without monetization have been very difficult for me financially.

At this point, I am left with only two options:

Delete all videos that include Moyam
(which would mean Moyam can never appear again in the future).

Leave the channel as it is, but personally stop all YouTube activities.

I carefully read all the encouragement and suggested solutions you’ve shared with me,
but realistically, these are the only options I have left.

To address some of the questions I’ve been asked frequently:

“Can’t you start a secondary channel?”
→ This would be considered account circumvention and result in all channels being terminated.

“What if you clearly state that Moyam is not a minor and apply an age restriction?”
→ Since the content itself is already considered a policy violation, this is not sufficient.

Moyam is a character I’ve created with an enormous amount of time and love over many years,
so the attachment I have is very strong.
Deleting every video that includes Moyam feels like losing
not only my own memories, but also the shared memories I have with all of you.
At the same time, leaving everything as it is makes my current situation financially overwhelming.

While my questions about why the channel was suspended have been mostly answered,
I still have absolutely no idea how I should move forward from here.

I wrote this post to clearly explain the situation
to those of you who are still waiting for me and trying to help find solutions,
and also in the hope that it might be of some help
to other animation YouTubers who have faced similar suspensions,
or to those who are preparing to become animation creators.

About a month ago, my channel’s was suspended. Since then, I’ve tried everything I could to recover it—but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to bring it back. What’s even more heartbreaking is that I still don’t fully understand the reason behind it.
To everyone who supported the MOYAM channel: thank you so much. Your encouragement is what kept me going and allowed me to come this far.
Ironically, back when I was running the channel, my daily routine was just: sleep, make videos, sleep again. Sometimes I thought, “Maybe I need a break.” But now that I’ve been forced to stop, I feel like I’ve lost direction. It made me realize just how much I truly loved doing this.
If any of my content ever made someone uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize. I always tried to create carefully and with joy.
I really hope this won’t be the end. One way or another, I’ll try to return.

아이러니하게도 매일 자고 일어나 영상을 만들고 다시 자는 반복되는 하루가 때론 벅차기도 했는데… 막상 이렇게 갑자기 멈추게 되니 제 삶에서 정말 소중한 무언가가 사라진 것 같더라고요. 이 일을 얼마나 사랑했는지도 이번에 확실히 알게 됐어요.
혹시 제 콘텐츠가 누군가에게 불편함을 줬다면 진심으로 사과드립니다. 하지만 그 누구보다 열심히, 즐겁게, 그리고 조심스럽게 만들려고 노력했어요.
