Hi! I'm Teresa, a surface pattern designer and watercolor artist. Welcome to my channel where we practice watercolor painting with a relaxed, intuitive mindset. Who needs more stress, right? This channel is dedicated to helping you embrace the magic of watercolors so painting can become a soul-soothing experience. And if you're not a painter, then I hope you find a few moments of relaxation by listening to some great tunes and watching me paint. ;)
If you'd like to know more about my surface pattern work, please visit my website, bealadesigns.com, and if you want to see more of everything I do, you can get a great overview on my instagram page.

Hello, everyone. Just wanted to pop in to say I've been a bit sick this week. But today I was back in the studio and had a lovely painting session. I posted a short earlier of what I painted. Hope you all are well.

Hello, everyone. I posted a new video yesterday about color mixing. In the video, I showed a side-by-side comparison of Quinacridone Violet and Violet, but did not also show the Rose of Ultramarine, so here is a snapshot. As you can see the Rose of Ultramarine and Quin. Violet are very similar, with the Rose of Ultram. being slightly more earthy and more granulating. These two could easily be substituted for each other in most applications. If you'd like to see it zoomed in, just use your keyboard shortcut to do so. Happy painting!

Let the unpacking begin! I love this part, but at the same time, I’m ready to be settled in. 😂 This has got to be the longest move in history!

Whew, everything is finally packed and ready to go! Let the next chapter begin!! :) Give me just a few more weeks to get unpacked and I'll get back to posting regularly. Thank you so much for hanging in there with me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you.❤️ I'll post some unboxing pics soon, too, and then a final studio reveal. 🎉 🎉 🎉. And since you've all been so supportive and patient, I am going to tell you my favorite Alaska story soon. I've held this one back for a special occasion, and completing our move certainly qualifies. I have a promised product review to do first, but then I'll follow it quickly with the Alaska story video. See ya soon!!

It’s time to pack up the studio! I haven’t been here in so long that it’s a bit like going back to Narnia. I’m only here for a few days this time, and will have to come back in July to finish up. ❤️Thank you all so much for your patience, understanding, and support while we concentrate on moving🚚. Downsizing takes much longer than a typical box-it-up-and-go kind of move. No move is easy, but purging definitely adds extra time. I can’t wait to get settled and back to painting! I miss you!

Here's a little peek into the new studio. Looks small, right? It is. Especially compared to my old studio. Yeah, I'm a little nervous about it, but on the other hand, I'm supper excited about why we are moving (to be close to daughter, son-in-law, and new grandson). Besides, this is a fantastic opportunity to thin out clutter and breathe fresh ideas into my space.

When my mother died 15 years ago, I saved every little thing that we bonded over. For instance, we shared many --- many --- hours talking about crochet & sewing. Crochet was one of the things we shared that made me feel like not just her daughter, but her friend. So when she died I kept almost every pattern, fabric & yarn stash, notions, and unfinished works she had. Over the last 15 years, I've incorporated some of it into my own tools, but I still have things I will never use. I knew at the time it was silly to keep them, but I still couldn't let them go. Now I'm ready. It's time to cherish the things I truly cherish and shed the things that weigh me down.

The amount of light this room gets makes me feel joyful and creative. Outside this window there are a few rolling hills off in the distance and we have a resident turkey that lurks about in the back yard. He hasn't come up to welcome us yet, but I can't help but think he is bound to be the source of a good story one day.

I'M MOVING!

Hello, everyone. I apologize, but this week's video is going to be late. I will get it loaded as soon as I can.

Big life changes are coming for me. First, I just became a grandmother for the first time! :) And second, we are moving to a new city. :0 My studio is in limbo at the moment, so I am filming as best I can in various makeshift locations. So, please bear with me as I make the move to my new home & studio. I can't wait to show you the new space.

Happy Friday, all! I have a question for you, please....

Today's video, Paint With Me In Real Time...." looks rather dark to me. My original file that I uploaded is not dark. Several, but not all, of my videos have been uploading darker than they should, but this one is particularly dark. I'm just wondering does it appear dark to you, too? I once had a different problem, but it was only affecting me, so now I'm not sure it this is an issue that is affecting everyone or just me.

Thanks so much for helping me sort this out.
