So in the original version of James AndThe Super E.D., James gets damaged when a lightning strikes the loading tipper while he is loading trucks with coal, lifting James into the air and toppling him into his side. This is the reason E.D. comes to Sodor.
In my version, James is pushing several trucks of coal to the Coaling Depot for the engines when a lightning bolt strikes the ground near James. This causes James to freak out and pushes the trucks through the barrier on the other side of the Depot, sending him and his trucks to the ground below while Duck and Henry watch in amusement. I changed it so it would make more sense that James's accident was caused by him getting frightened by lightning than being toppled over by a Tiller
The Coaling Depot (where the engines are loaded up with coal before their jobs for the day.) is the elevated track seen here in this illustration from Old Stuck Up

Apparently, Duke was supposed to appear in Duncan Gets Spooked where he is the one to tell Duncan of the ghost story. I feel like this would've made more sense since Duke has been on Sodor far longer than Rusty has and maybe there may have been some implications like what if The Ghost Engine worked for the Mid Sodor. Also, this would've been some great pairing with Duncan and Duke. Duke was also meant to appear in Snow, Toby's Discovery and Rusty And The Boulder, where he was in Rheneas's role.

Okay so apparently there was a Cancelled Season 5 Episode written by David Mitton called "James And The Super E.D." where An electric diesel Locomotive gets very powerful after being struck by lightning. If this story ever happens in my AU, E.D. will be a Del120.
(And before anyone says anything, yes, this was apparently a planned episode)
