Much like in Japan, which I mentioned a few months ago, the characters on some road signs in Belgium (where I currently am) are shown wearing a hat. In this case, the "men at work" sign has a person who seems to be wearing a cap.

Howdy everyone, there will be a small hiatus in the posting of my videos for the next few months. I have a lot going on in my other activities taking up my time this summer, and then I'm moving homes, so until I get things set up at my new place I will have to take a break from filming. But don't worry, once all is settled I will be returning with new hats! Thank you again for watching and I hope you'll still be there when I'm back!
Salut tout le monde, il va y avoir un petit hiatus dans la mise en ligne de mes vidéos pendant quelques mois. J'ai beaucoup à faire dans mes autres activités qui prennent mon temps cet été, et ensuite je déménage de maison, et jusqu'à ce que je mette tout en place dans mon nouveau domicile, je dois faire une pause dans les tournages. Mais pas d'inquiétude, une fois établi je serai de retour avec de nouveaux chapeaux ! Merci pour votre audience, et j'espère que vous serez toujours là quand je reviens!

My hat for today. May the Fourth be with you! Happy Star Wars Day!

(Pour les francophones, la plaisanterie est que le 4 mai se dit "May the Fourth" en anglais, ce qui ressemble à "May the Force", "que la Force", donc certains fans célèbrent la "Journée Guerre des Étoiles" aujourd'hui.

Also some of you had asked if there was a link between the imperial kepi and the German Bergmütze I just did a video on. Maybe one day I'll do a deeper episode, but from what I could quickly glean, this hat was inspired by German WWII and cold War field caps (the whole uniform was German inspired), mixed with some Japanese field cap features.

Certains m'ont aussi demandé s'il y avait un lien entre le képi impérial et la Bergmütze allemande dont je viens de faire une vidéo. Je ferai peut-être un jour un épisode plus approfondi, mais d'après ce que j'ai pu rapidement glaner, cette coiffe a en effet été inspirée de casquettes allemandes de la seconde guerre mondiale et de la guerre froide (l'uniforme entier a de inspirations allemandes), avec certains traits de casquettes japonaises.

I want to say, I'm very touched by all your comments of appreciation on my post yesterday, and the encouragement they provide. While I am quite confident in my approach, and don't intend to change it, it's always nice to get some confirmation! I mostly wanted not to complain but to address it and explain my thought process, and for the record, I have no problem with people who earnestly ask or respectfully offer criticism, which i do take into account. I will say, the overwhelming majority of feedback I've gotten since making this channel has been positive. A friend of mine once said, after reading the comments on some of my videos, that I just have the best followers, and I wholeheartedly agree! Thank you to you all! My hat is off to you!

Je veux juste dire, après mon commentaire hier, que je suis très touché par vos commentaires d'appréciation, et l'encouragement qu'ils me donnent. Bien que je sois confiant dans l'approche que je prends et je n'ai aucune intention de la changer, c'est toujours agréable d'avoir un peu de confirmation ! Je voulais surtout aborder le sujet, pas pour me plaindre mais pour expliquer ma philosophie, et je n'ai aucun problème avec ceux qui me demandent de bonne foi ou m'offrent des critiques respectueuses que je prends en compte. Je dirai aussi que la très grande majorité des commentaires que j'ai reçus depuis que j'ai commencé cette chaîne ont été positifs. Une amie m'a dit, après avoir lu les commentaires sur certaines de mes vidéos, que j'ai les meilleurs abonnés, et je suis bien d'accord! Merci à vous tous, et je vous tire mon chapeau !

I have been asked about (or criticised for, which doesn't affect me much) wearing hats from groups, religions, or countries I don't belong to in my videos. My general feeling is that, as I nether claim nor pretend to be a part of these groups, but wear the hats (and corresponding outfits) to illustrate a point, I am little different from an actor onscreen. I also try, if possible, to consult with members of said groups on their feelings, and so far I've been told that if I do it with respect and don't claim to be anything I'm not, there's no problem. (I'll note that with military ones for example, my uniforms are always somewhat inaccurate, firstly because I work with what I have, but it's convenient as I cannot be mistaken for the real thing). The biggest thing is that I always try to approach a hat, and the culture/group that wears it, with respect and objectivity. While I know not everybody who views my videos will agree, I feel most will undersand, and I hope you continue to enjoy my videos!

Certains m'ont demandé (ou critiqué pour, ce qui ne m'embête pas plus que ça) au sujet du fait que je porte, dans mes vidéos, des chapeaux de groupes, religions, ou pays auxquels je n'appartiens pas. Ma philosophie est que, comme je ne prétends pas être membre de ces groupes, mais porte les chapeaux (et tenues correspondantes) pour illustrer de quoi je parle, je suis un peu comme un acteur sur le grand écran. J'essaye aussi, si possible, de consulter des membres de ces groupes sur ce qu'ils pensent, et jusque lors on m'a dit que tant que je le fais avec respect et n'essaye pas de e faire passer pour quelque chose que je ne suis pas, il n'y a aucun problème (je noterai que pour les tenues militaires par exemple, mes uniformes ne sont jamais corrects, premièrement parce que je travaille avec ce que j'ai, mais c'est pratique car personne ne peut me méprendre pour un vrai). Le principal est que j'essaye d'approcher chaque chapeau, et la culture/groupe qui le porte, avec respect et objectivité. Je sais que tous ceux qui regardent mes vidéos ne seront pas d'accord, mais la plupart comprendront, et j'espère que vous continuerez à apprécier mes vidéos!
