Join me here at Bible and a Bicycle as I explore the why, what, and how of the Bible and bicycles.
I regularly share my favorite thrifty Bible finds with you. You'll also see my favorite bicycle hacks and lifestyle tips as well as fan-edits showcasing some of my favorite teachers, preachers, scholars and theologians that I throw together at least a few times a week in hopes of encouraging one another to open up and study the Bible for ourselves.
There was times when the only thing that I had in life was a Bible and a Bicycle.
Blessings and shalom! ✌️❤️🙏

Whispers in the Shadows: The Unseen Threads of Babylon
There’s a certain weight to the night in Babylon. Not the ancient city itself, of course, but the kind of Babylon that lingers in our minds — the shadows in the corners, the faint whisper of something just beyond the edge of perception. It’s the Babylon where reality seems to pause, blink, or even skip a heartbeat, and you feel the pull of something bigger than yourself.

A Line‑ by‑ Line Response to the Justin Peters / Fred Butler Claims About Michael S. Heiser
Why This Response Is Necessary
Public critique is not wrong. Disagreement is not unbiblical. But accuracy is not optional.
In a video produced by Justin Peters Ministries featuring Fred Butler, Dr. Michael S. Heiser is presented as teaching ideas that range from henotheism and monolatry to functional Mormonism, modalism, and even a denial of foundational Christian doctrines. These are not minor accusations. They are claims that, if true, would place Heiser outside the bounds of historic Christian orthodoxy.
This article does not ask the reader to agree with Michael Heiser. It asks something far simpler and more responsible: to compare what is claimed about him with what he actually wrote and taught.
What follows is not speculation, paraphrase, or guilt‑ by‑ association. It is a line‑ by‑ line comparison between specific claims made in the Peters/Butler discussion and Michael Heiser’s own words, drawn from his books, articles, and public statements. Scripture will be allowed to speak for itself, without fear of ancient context or modern labels.
Methodology
Each section follows the same structure:
The Claim – a clear statement made in the Peters/Butler discussion
Heiser’s Actual Words – direct quotations from Heiser’s work
The Category Error – where the claim misunderstands or misrepresents Heiser
The Biblical Data – the relevant passages, read plainly
This is not an attack piece. It is a corrective one.

Thanksgiving and the Heart of Gratitude: A Believer’s Reflection.
Shalom, everyone!
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that most folks think they’ve already got all figured out. Turkey, football, pumpkin pie, family, a nap afterward, and maybe a prayer before the meal if someone remembers to say one. But when you really take the time to slow down and look at what Thanksgiving actually is, where it came from, and what it means spiritually, you realize there’s a whole lot more going on than a big dinner on a Thursday in November. There’s a deep history behind it, some painful truths mixed in with the comforting ones, and a whole spiritual layer that most people walk right past without ever noticing.
For Believers, Thanksgiving isn’t just an American tradition. It’s a doorway into something that has been woven into the fabric of Scripture from the very beginning. Gratitude—real gratitude—isn't seasonal. It’s spiritual. It’s part of our identity. And the more you look at Thanksgiving through that lens, the more you start to see the religious ramifications of this holiday, the places where it aligns with biblical truth, and the places where it bumps into uncomfortable realities that we shouldn’t ignore. So let’s take a long ride through all of it, like we’re coasting down a long country road on a bicycle with plenty of time to talk along the way.

Violence against Christians in Nigeria is real, intense, and regionally concentrated — especially in the northeast (Boko Haram/ISWAP) and the central “Middle Belt” (farmer–herder clashes, bandits). Some Christian groups and political actors call it a genocide; others (and Nigerian authorities) argue it’s part of a broader insecurity crisis—including terrorism, criminal banditry, and resource conflicts—that affects Muslims and Christians. Estimates of deaths and displaced people vary widely depending on source and methodology, so treat any single number cautiously.
