𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲: Take Accountability Seriously

Some years back, I was given a storytelling gig. Because I was very busy, I outsourced it. That went well, and I was happy.

After a while, the same client reached out again. This time, I connected them directly with the person I had outsourced to. I encouraged my contact to work with the writer freely and assured them they could be trusted to deliver.

The client paid in full, but my writer never delivered.

At first, the client kept this to themselves and continued following up, even as the writer kept missing deadlines.

Guess what? The writer eventually stopped picking the client’s calls. That was when the client reached out to me.

In the end, it took extra intervention from me to fix the situation.

You see, accountability is key in all that we do.

❌Don’t just do what you want because nobody is directly supervising you.

❌Don’t only do the right thing when people are watching.
