NEW ERA of ME.

"Spitting in the Face of Your Ideal Self: Why You Stay Silent in a Foreign Language"

You keep putting off that first step — not because you're weak, but because your fear is an unconscious pact between your ego and its flawless projection, where you are simultaneously the victim, the jailer, and the front-row spectator of your own tragedy. Yet the moment your voice — stumbling, hoarse, imperfect — first sounds in that foreign tongue, you will realize: the phantom you bowed to has no power, for it exists nowhere but inside your skull. Spitting in its face is not aggression; it is liberation from a perfection that suffocated you with its unattainability. And it is precisely in that clumsiness, that vulnerability, that permission to be ridiculous — that your true voice is born. Raw. Alive. Irrevocable. And you will discover that you are not learning a language — you are meeting yourself. The one who always wanted to speak, but waited for permission from someone who had no right to give it.

"When you ask, you stay."

"Listen, I recently realized something. I always thought I was a good conversationalist because I have answers for everything. You know, stuff like 'it'll get better,' 'you're strong,' 'this too shall pass.' And then one person explained to me: when you say things like that — you're putting a period at the end of the sentence. The other person nods, smiles, but inside they're still alone. But if instead you ask, 'what's the hardest part for you right now?' — you leave the door open for them. They can walk through, or they can choose not to. But the door is open. And they know you're there. That's what it means to hold the door open. And you know what? It works not just with friends. With a girlfriend, with colleagues, even with yourself. Try it. You'll see the difference."

"It was the late 2000s, a time when people expressed themselves in all sorts of ways. For me, that expression came through my hobby. A4 paper, a pencil, a scanner, Adobe Photoshop. I drew inspiration from magazines dedicated to street art and spray art, from electronic music, and from people who shared a similar yet distinctly unique philosophy – one that always resonated deeply with my own."

NEW ERA of ME.

This is not an anthem to arrogant superiority, but to the quiet aristocracy of the spirit that lives within you—the very quality that makes the heart stand still before someone else’s masterpiece, rather than gnawing at itself with envy. If you feel out of place at this festival of mediocrity, if your thin skin recoils at the loud slogans of the crowd, know this: your timidity is not weakness—it is a symptom of altitude, for true talent is always shy at first, because it looks to the heavens rather than down at its feet. Do not let the warm and comfortable half-death persuade you that your inner fire is too much, that your depth is an oddity; it is precisely those who can admire without destroying, and create without imitating, who are the salt of the earth—upon whom all that is living depends. So lift your head and spread your wings, creator, for the only way to remain pure in a world of vapours is to fly higher, into your own cosmos, and shine there so brightly that others, just as lost, may find their way to the light by your star. You are not refuse—you are an aristocrat of being, and your right to life is not the right to chew and sleep, but the right to forge meaning and to revel in it. So breathe deeply and continue to do what only the true soul can do: admire that which creates, and create that which is admirable.

---

And as a closing note, for young creators and people of science: your capacity to admire and to create is the rarest of gifts—one that must be guarded from the poison of mediocrity and carried into the world like a torch.

NEW ERA of ME.

I noticed a peculiar thing about myself. I was watching a video on communication (https://youtu.be/vfu2zKpQjfE?si=QYvT-...) in an effort to, shall we say, better understand others. And I stumbled upon a point that described my own stumbling block. It turns out, one can become so absorbed in one’s own role in this world that one forgets: other people are not mere extras. I decided to dig a little deeper and found a text about main character syndrome. I read it. I recognised some familiar notes. In short, we are not making a diagnosis, merely taking note: slightly fewer solo performances, slightly more attention to the fact that it is not only your record that is playing. A course correction, not a revolution. And yes, this very post has turned out to be a little bit about myself — but how else is one to share a personal experience?

Here is my view: our light — and I mean this quite literally — is genuine.

Today, at the very end of my shift, a simple thought struck me — that sometimes you simply have to slow down and look at ourselves from the outside. And what I see is not despair, but the embryo of something enormous — the fragile smile of a civilisation taking its very first steps. We are forever afraid of being late, when in truth, we have caught the world at its dawn — and that is an astonishing stroke of luck. Because I truly believe in people — not in sinless geniuses, but in infants only just learning to feel their own fingers, whose main task is not to smash the cradle to pieces. And this faith does not live in me by accident; I feel that we are not here by chance. And if one day the universe were to ask for whom all of this was done, the answer would not come from the person of today, but from someone in the distant future — someone we would not even recognise now — who would stand and say: "For us — it was absolutely worth it."

NEW ERA of ME.

Motivation is dead. All that remains is what you do with yourself. That is all.

This is, perhaps, my final piece on motivation. Not because I’ve stopped believing in it, but because I’ve finally found something that actually works. All those rousing cries of "pull yourself together" and "you can do it"—for some, they are a spark, I don't deny that. But when you’re at rock bottom, when every morning begins with a weight on your chest, that language sounds foreign. I see things differently now, from another angle, and it is this perspective I want to share. Not a shove, but a hand.

Here is what I’ve come to understand. Imagine, for a moment, that your misfortune is not your main problem. It sounds peculiar, but stay with it. Life strikes you once—that is a fact, it is pure pain, and you have every right to it. To grieve, to lie there drained, to feel emptiness—that is normal, that is deeply human. But then, something else happens. You, often without noticing, begin to land a second blow upon yourself. With your thoughts. With self-recrimination. With an endless chewing over of the past: "why me," "I should have done things differently," "I am good for nothing." Life struck you once, and yet you bludgeon yourself ten times more. And here lies the greatest trap: the misfortune itself is finite, it has boundaries, the pain subsides. But that inner voice—you don’t switch it off for days, for weeks; it becomes your background hum. It is this voice that turns a merely difficult time into an unbearable one. Do you recognise this?

Now, exhale. Because if you recognise it, you are already halfway to freedom. I am serious. The very fact that you can observe this means you are no longer entirely inside that current; you are already, just slightly, above it. And from here, it is simple. Not easy, but simple. First: separate them. Here is what actually happened. And here is what I am fabricating, the extra weight I am piling on top. Simply draw that line, if only in your mind. Second: name it. Not "I am suffering," but "Ah, there goes that dirty suffering again, the mind is up to its old tricks." When you give it a name, it loses half its power—it is no longer a faceless horror, but a familiar mechanism, and you see it for what it is. And third: refuse the extra portion. You do not have to consume all of it. The pure pain will pass on its own, as a thunderstorm passes, as a wound heals. What makes this hell eternal is not life, but the layer you yourself keep applying. And that layer—you can choose not to apply it. Just try. Feel, for a single second, what it is like to leave only what is truly there, without the appendix. Easier already, is it not?

No one is promising it will be easy. The pain of loss, of collapse, of a blow—that is real, and there is no point in denying it. But the blow that life dealt you is quite enough. Finishing off a person when they are already down is not compulsory. You are not your own enemy. You are the one who will climb out of this. Perhaps, with time, different perspectives will come; life changes, and we change along with it. But right now, I know of nothing more precise than this.

You are not tired from work. You are tired from making things up.

We have grown accustomed to thinking that overpowering oneself is the only path to a goal. The whole "pull yourself together, you weakling" sort of thing. But the problem is, such violence against oneself does not work in the long run. It works until the first breakdown. What can truly lift a person, however, is interest. Not a savage straining of every sinew, but a calm realisation: "Well, this is actually not as difficult as I had pictured it."

Herein lies the great pitfall of a flawed mindset. When you choose comfort and do nothing, you pay a price that, for some reason, no one ever calculates. You pay with time. You pay with self-respect. You accumulate that regret deep within. "What if I had tried back then?" That is the cost of inaction, a cost which is rarely spoken of. You seemingly avoided difficulty, but you received another burden in return. And over the years, it weighs heavier than any work ever could.

The truth is, most things that frighten us are, in reality, simpler than the fantasies we construct about them. We do not fear the task itself, but the image we have painted—a heroic, agonising struggle. Yet if you approach the matter with curiosity, if you strip away the pathos, remove the "must" and the "should", everything becomes lighter. Not easy, precisely, but lighter. Because a spark of excitement emerges.

And here I wish to add a vital thought. Many believe that discipline is about gritted teeth. But look to nature. Nature is a formidable element—incredible, merciless, and beautiful all at once. The river does not force itself to flow. The fire does not coax itself to burn. There is no violence in it. There is passion, there is movement, there is power. And now, the crucial point: we are part of this nature. We are not guests on this planet; we belong to this very force. We have simply forgotten. Forgotten that we are capable not of "squeezing out" a result, but of seizing it from life with fervour. If you truly want something, you will find a way. Not because you are obliged to. But because within you exists that same elemental force that does not ask for permission.
