I have a question for all the animators and artists out there: is it possible even technically to make a fully hand drawn, no computers or any of that bullshit, animated TV show or movie that is realistic, detailed and life like, not cartoon-y? The closest thing to this in real life so far that I'm thinking of is those highly detailed, life like flipbooks the channel "dP art drawing" (epic channel go check her out especially her latest which is possibly her best flipbook video yet that is currently sitting at a dismal 51k views which I think she deserves more than that for all the time, effort and work she put into that so go definitely so that). Make an entire show or movie in a style of HAND DRAWN animation like that, except all in color of course, and maybe a tad bit more realistic especially for things like motion and movement. Is that possible and if so, how? What would it take? I would definitely like to hear.

I'm sick and tired of only being able to ask A.I this and it would be nice to get answers from real experts who have experience in the field about this for once. Thanks.

I’m so sick of this stupid and terrible decade.

It’s been shit from the very start with Covid and it has never let up since then. First it was Covid and the lockdowns which kickstarted almost everything wrong with this decade such as the bad economy, education, loneliness (especially for me, thanks in due part to my parents who didn’t help make it any better after the lockdowns were officially over like in 2021. Quite the opposite actually. At least back in the 2010s when I was a kid I used to be around people my age, way more than I am now), isolation, screen and internet addiction, political polarization, etc. And then came A.I and the return of Trump, proving this decade’s motto of “it can always get worse, and it will only get worse”. And possibly the worst part, I feel like all of this could have been prevented. I don’t think we would have issues of people and society in general being chronically online or things like loneliness and isolation at least not to the level it’s at today if it weren’t for the Covid 19 pandemic and lockdowns, we’d definitely wouldn’t have such a sucky economy or education that’s for sure, and I’m sure we wouldn’t see the rise of right wing “chudslop” as Xanderhal likes to call it that has led to the enshittification of the internet and degradation of society and discourse either. And A.I too, at least the generative kind (the kind that makes images, audio, text and now video), could have been prevented and stopped, at least for as long as this decade if not longer, had artists back in the 2010s known about what A.I companies were doing with their stuff without their knowledge or permission and put a stop to it before it ever began. I wish we lived in that world and timeline instead of the one we are in now.

That’s why I no longer think or look forward to the future. Instead I think about ways I can travel back in time, to 2010, and prevent this all from happening, one by warning artists back then about what A.I companies were doing with their stuff without their knowledge or consent as well as the rise and election of Trump and Covid (if I can figure out a way to do that without exposing myself to be from the future and anonymously as well. It would be no small easy task especially compared to preventing the A.I thing, which is ironic. But the first couple years of the 2020s were a time before A.I slop and enshittification and yet those sucked too so admittedly even though A.I definitely is a huge problem within this decade, it isn’t the sole only one) as well as other things. Wish me luck.

If artists back in the early 2010s before Drumpf got elected the first time only knew what A.I companies were doing with their stuff without their knowledge or permission to train A.I (because the mass internet data scraping to train A.I began all the way back in the early 2010s even if not a lot of people at the time knew about it, especially artists whose works were being used to make it without their knowledge or consent) and did something about it before any models were released or even made, do you think we would still have generative AI (A.I that makes images, audio, text and now video) models like ChatGPT, MidJourney, Suno and more today?
