Very grateful to connect with the wonderful Sinclair from @mysticalheartcollective on "The Psychedelic Integration Podcast". In this episode, we talk about Huachuma (San Pedro) medicine magic 💫🌵✨
A lot of people come to the medicine not because they've hit "rock bottom" but "Rock Top".
On paper, they've got a lot going for them:
- They're making good money - Married to someone they love - Have hobbies & interests they enjoy - Are in in good physical shape - Like their circle of friends - Have talents & skills the world needs - Are a good parent - Own a nice home or two
Yet they feel like something's “missing”…
And can't put their finger on what that is.
If they're so successful on paper, why do they feel so empty and unsuccessful off it?
What's the purpose?
And yet, if everything's so stable and safe, why risk a call to adventure?
For many, it is *because* everything's going so well on the surface, they badly desire a change deep down.
*Because* they have gotten so good at being who they are not, they now NEED to know who they are.
The quest for more on the outside has left them hollow on the inside.
Money, work, parties, travel, prestige - has only widened the gap between who they are and who they are not.
And wherever the go, there they are.
But who is that?
Who is this soul which feels lost and dead?
None of these questions can be answered from the mind. Information & comfort do not provide wisdom or a deep inner knowing.
This is the problem.
They've gotten so good at living from the mind - rational, analytical, logical - they feel sick in their heart.
This type of soul sickness shows up as depression, anxiety, isolation, apathy, brain fog, emotional eating, a general unease, ennui, & emptiness.
Here's where the medicine comes in.
Away from the mind, into the heart.
In fact, "Huachuma" means "to cut the mind", "to do away with the ego."
Only then can our heart know who we really are - and guide our mind to our truest potential.
So yes, Huachuma is fantastic for those who've hit "rock bottom". But it's also perfect those who've hit "rock top".
- Do you feel a longing for something just out of reach?
- Do you hear the whisper of your soul calling you home?
If so, I invite you to join us for ceremony, to give away what you want in order to receive what you truly need.
Stressed? Depressed? Anxious? Trying to quit drinking, smoking or drugs -- for good? Have chronic pain or an autoimmune disorder? Relationships issues?
If you’re in crisis and desperate for relief...
If you've tried a lot of different options, specialists, and techniques…
If you’re tired of hiring life coaches, therapists, and mentors…
If you’re sick of paying for meditation apps and pharmaceutical refills…
If, in other words, you’re at the end of your rope -- and ready to make the last stop on your long road to healing -- well, plant medicine may be for you.
I say this first because I, too, had exhausted all possible options.
I had seen physical therapists. Spent years on the therapist’s couch. Had a psychiatrist and was even hospitalized. I had an online yoga subscription, meditation apps, and breathwork videos.
What did I have to show for it?
Any relief I did get didn't last long. I was still suicidal. I still had panic attacks and horrible insomnia. I was still struggling to stop drinking and still using cannabis. I was still anorexic and easily overwhelmed. And on top of that, I couldn't walk anymore. I had crippling chronic pain which left me in agony and with chronic fatigue from lack of sleep. As I was grieving the loss of my body, all of my relationships began to fall apart. I eventually lost my job. So if anything, I was *more* angry, *more* irritable, *more* bitter, more *lost* and *confused* than before. I realized something had to change. Because I wasn't just at rock bottom. I was desperate to do something different.
And so I tried plant medicine and experienced radical transformation myself.
But this is just my story. And I'm by no means unique. I see and hear these same kinds of stories of radical desperation and radical transformation ALL THE TIME in my own practice. For others, they may have autoimmune disease or navigating major life transitions like divorce or moving on to something bigger. So it’s totally okay. You’re not alone. Healing IS possible.
While plant medicines are highly effective in allowing us to heal and find clarity, connection, and truth, they are not a magic pill. Plant medicines are work - but they DO work if you do.
For them to work, you simply need to be open and willing to commit to doing the work. It is not an easy path at times, and can be uncomfortable. That said, the benefits can be profoundly healing, transformative, and enduring, bringing new dimensions and a fresh start to your life.
If you are sincere with your intentions and our work resonates with you, we extend an invitation to immerse yourself in timeless shamanic cosmology. You'll be positively transformed, and better for it. You won’t need to take pharmaceuticals anymore. You won’t need to worry about relapsing. You can mend your relationships. Find work that’s meaningful to you. Be creative. And most importantly, you can enjoy your life - as it was intended to be. At Cinco Medicos have created a safe environment guided by people of deep experience, vast knowledge, and high integrity. Your reasons for finding the medicine may be unique to you, but if you want to turn the "Tree of Trauma" back into the "Tree of Life", get in touch.
“Jeremy is humble, caring, & respectful. He is someone with a deep sense of empathy and is a true source of light and guidance. He has consistently provided a safe space for me to realize deep beliefs and blockages within me. Since working with him, I have grown to understand the importance of loving myself as a foundation to bring awareness to the seen and unseen nooks and crannies in my energetic bodies.
I met him in October 2022 at an Ayahuasca ceremony and saw him again in January 2023 for two Huachuma ceremonies. He is informative and deeply respectful of his talents and rituals, which is inspiring to anyone interested in living a life honoring their flow instead of someone else’s structure. I appreciate his humanness and ability to bring simplicity to any problem my mind is processing. He has helped me realize the joy I can bring into my life with fluidity, acceptance, and play.
I have barely scratched the surface of my plant medicine journey and am manifesting a summer filled of ceremony with Jeremony!”
"Jeremy is a one-of-a-kind soul, and it has been a gift to be able to work with him. The healing container he creates is full of love, empathy, safety, compassion, and the freedom to express one’s true self.
In this world there are plenty of pseudo-healers with questionable intent and it is not always easy to find guides who actually care to witness your growth and transformation. Jeremy shows a genuine desire to help, empower, and be present with each person for the post-ceremony integration work. It helps one feel supported through the entire life cycle of a plant medicine ceremony. It is clear the Spirit of Huachuma works through Jeremy. The trust I have in him alone as a person - has been deeply healing for me - I am utterly grateful to have met and worked with him in this way." -Kalina, Cinco Medicos Retreats guest
"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."
Burnout in the tech industry is a public health CRISIS.
Every day, we see engineers, PMs, designers, and sales people suffer from total exhaustion, apathy, distance, demotivation, cynicism, and addiction.
Developers may feel obligated to grind it out with Red Bulls, overnighters, and headphones. To sit in their chair for hours on end, in front of a bright screen, coding or fixing bugs to resolve a stack of JIRA tickets. Daily standups become a rendezvous of the disengaged. Quality of work decreases. And everybody pretends, "Life is great!"
In reality? They feel tired all the time. Can’t hit deadlines. Forget what they feel passionate about. Struggle to unplug. Drink too much. Buy what they don't need...etc.
I teach people in software & tech how to recover from chronic stress - whether that come in the form of mental or physical illness, burnout, or poor performance. I teach folks in software how to get well again, prioritize their well-being, and get back in touch with themselves.
