I may have not disclosed this in an obvious way before, but I love all kinds of bar soap! Homemade, store bought, from every place, far and wide! When I travelled to India back in 2018, I came home with a case full of soap 😁 Indian soap would have to be my favourite - Chandrika, Radhas and Medimix ayurvedic soaps are top of the list.

These gorgeous bars (what's left of them) were bought for me by a darling friend on her recent trip to Nepal and some of the northern states of India. She messaged me one day asking if I wanted any spices brought back from a market she was visiting, and I said "soap!! bring me soap!!" 😆 Ask, and ye shall receive 😍

If you don't make it yourself, what's your favourite store bought bar soap? I'll always favour bar soap (from any source) over a liquid product in a single use plastic bottle. Though I'm still stuck on the store bought shampoo and conditioner 🙁

Soap making can be cool, but not always when I do it 😄 PPE is very important. This is my lovely neem soap recipe, sans neem powder (the oil is enough) and with a slight tweak of the base oils (reduced coconut, added rice bran - gentler cleansing)

Beautiful lemon juice soap in the early morning light. I've just brought it up from the laundry where it's been sitting, airing out, since I made it a couple of weeks ago. The colour and scent have mellowed a bit, which I expected them to. Now it's time to put away into my soap cupboard where they'll continue drying and curing. It's a lovely soap, very happy 🍋🌞

When life gives you lemons, maybe don’t make soap with them 🫤

What’s going on here? I worked all day yesterday working out this soap recipe, prepping, researching, writing, filming, all the things.

Today it was time for the final take and oh, the soap is still caustic! And it shouldn’t be.

The colour is nice though.

I’ll take a break, step away and see what it’s like in a few days. It’s been less than 24 hours since I made the soap so maybe it needs more time.

I’m off to quadruple check my calculations.

And just like that, Soap Calc is back! That's a nice surprise. Even better is that the terrible flashing ads have not come back with it! Still good to look at various calculators, in case you ever need a second option. Nothing lasts forever 🫤

One of my YouTube viewers brought to my attention today that my old favourite soap calculator called ‘Soap Calc’ is no longer available.

I checked the website and it’s true! It is no longer available so I’ve updated my website today with advice on another calculator which I love to use called Lye Calc and you can find it at www.lyecalc.com

I don’t have any affiliation with this company. These are just tools that are freely available for any home/hobby or business soap maker to use.

Which is your favourite soap/lye calculator? Tell me in the comments if there are any better than Lye Calc I would love to know 😀

We had fun camping with friends on the weekend. I didn’t take any soap (there were no showers at this bush camp, lucky it was freezing cold! 😆). Toasting our bread on the campfire was fun 🔥🌿 I love the simple life 🥰
