The Kenlo Show đź“°

Hello and welcome to the Kenlo Show. I'm your host Kennedie Scurry. Over the past 10 years I have had some interesting and challenging experiences - all of which have tested me mentally, spiritually and emotionally. In the process of working through it all I have learned a lot about myself and a little bit about life (yes, a little-gimme a break). Each time something came my way, I would also think about or wonder how others were handling the same issues. I am very blessed in the fact that I have family and friends that I can talk to and get advice from. I have learned that there are many out here who don't.

This blog was created as a vehicle to provide an open and positive forum for sharing ideas and real world advice. Whether it's something that is affecting you personally or issues that affect us all you can .... (SEE MORE @THEKENLOSHOW_ BY CLICKING THE LINK THR BIO)!

Thrii’s Company: The Pilot

Some know Thrii (@3thrii3) as a talented nail tech. Others recognize her as a rising music artist. But what many don’t realize is that she’s also a master at curating safe spaces for creatives to thrive. Thrii’s Company (@thriiscompany) was a night of music, artistry, and self-expression—an experience filled with laughter, crayons, and candid moments.

I was hunted down by Thrii herself to capture the essence of the night through interviews with the performers. And let me tell you, the stage presence was immaculate. Each artist brought something different—lyricism, style, and an undeniable energy that flowed from their music to their fashion.

The Space: A Perfect Fusion of Cultures

Held at Black Dragon Studios (@blackdragon_studiosllc), the venue itself was an experience. Outside, a massive One Piece mural set the tone before stepping into a space rich with Asian-inspired décor. Black tees featuring anime characters and classic movie prints hung from the walls, and scattered throughout were nods to hip-hop culture—Wu-Tang logos, vintage SOURCE magazine covers, and more.

Even the bathroom had its own vibe. Among the art and memorabilia, a tiny red kimono caught my eye, a small but powerful detail in a space that merged cultures effortlessly.

The Setup: A Vibe in Every Corner

Walking in, everything was perfectly placed—the cook, DJ, and stage to the left, the bartender in the middle, and a cozy chill area (couch and arcade included) to the right. Thrii, the hostess with the most, made sure everyone felt at home—welcoming guests, serving drinks, and making sure the vibes were right.

And let’s talk about the food. Donye Hill (@mayasmadness28, Selena’s Kitchen) had us in a chokehold with her dishes. She served up Rasta Pasta and Cheesesteak Sliders, both packed with flavor. I opted for the Rasta Pasta—no meat, no problem. The way the noodles, peppers, spice, and Parmesan blended together? Unforgettable. To top it off, a slice of lemon cake added the perfect sweet finish.

The Performances: Artistry in Motion

Once everyone settled in, Thrii set the tone, and the performances began.

Dahi Divine (@dahonsax)

First up was Dahi Divine, an artist, producer, and Grammy Award-winning saxophonist. I had seen him perform before, but what I didn’t know? He raps and sings too. His set was seamless—effortlessly weaving between rap, vocals, and the saxophone, his sound floating perfectly over the beat.

Uno Mas (@___whosentyou)

Next was Uno Mas, fresh off the release of her latest project, Truly Yours. One of my favorite tracks from her set was “F*ck Yo Friends”, which sampled Luther Vandross’ A House Is Not a Home. The song hit home—addressing that all-too-familiar experience of friends inserting themselves into relationships they know nothing about. She commanded the stage, confident and fully in her element.

Mariah Geez (@thisismymp3playa)

Then came Mariah Geez, an artist who never fails to give us something new. Even after taking a break, she returned with a fresh sound that pulled the audience in instantly. She performed an unreleased track from her upcoming project, Bite Down—a song radiating liberation and empowerment for women. And of course, she rocked her signature Bunny Ears, a staple we’ve come to love.

Thrii (@3thrii3)

Closing out the night was Thrii herself, performing a range of songs from her latest project, Thrii. Her versatility was on full display—one moment sensual, the next a full-blown rockstar. A personal favorite from her set? “5day the 13th” featuring Ny5 (@ny5ived) and Uno Mas—a track that perfectly encapsulates her evolution as an artist.

Closing Out: Conversations & What’s Next

As the night wound down, I had the chance to sit with Mariah Geez, Uno Mas, and Thrii for post-show interviews. They opened up about their journeys, their music, and what we can expect from them as Spring and Summer roll in.

If you missed this one, don’t worry—Thrii’s Company is just getting started. Stay locked in for the next episode.

Philadelphia Flower Show: Where Nature Meets Imagination

The Philadelphia Flower Show (@phsgardening) returned this year, transforming the Convention Center into a vibrant escape filled with color, creativity, and community. This year’s theme, “Gardens of Tomorrow,” invited visitors to step into a world where nature and innovation intertwined — and the result was breathtaking.

As someone who finds peace in the beauty of flowers, I couldn’t wait to see how this year’s designs would push creative boundaries. Walking into the Convention Center — a staple venue that brings locals together for everything from Comic Con to cultural events — felt like stepping into a living, breathing art gallery.

The energy was undeniable. Women dressed in floral-inspired outfits moved gracefully through the exhibits, their smiles glowing as they admired each display. Guests clutched bouquets in their hands, adding even more life to the already vibrant space.

One exhibit that stood out was created by Jennifer Designs (@jenniferdesignsevents). The display featured a whimsical table surrounded by creatures you’d find in nature — a giant butterfly, a bee, a squirrel, a bird, and even ants — all crafted with impressive floral detail. It was as if the table had been plucked straight from an enchanted forest.

Another exhibit paid homage to the City of Philadelphia, with a skyline silhouette surrounded by various buildings wrapped in vibrant blooms. Each structure seemed to tell its own story, blending city pride with floral artistry.

One of the most memorable installations was a powerful display of human figures sculpted entirely from grass. The scene resembled a classroom, with students seated in natural poses — one figure notably sitting in a wheelchair. It was a beautiful reminder that nature, like life, embraces all forms of existence.

Before leaving, I took a moment to just be — surrounded by petals, colors, and calm. Flowers have a way of grounding us, turning ordinary spaces into places of warmth and comfort. Whether in our homes, businesses, or gardens, they breathe life into the everyday.

The Philadelphia Flower Show once again proved that nature has no creative limits. Each bloom carried a message — one of growth, beauty, and connection. I can’t wait to see what stories they tell next year.

Almost Famous Women’s Market: A Celebration of Creativity and Community

Last night, the city lit up with the energy of powerful women creatives as Almost Famous (@almostfamous.us) brought the community together for an unforgettable celebration of art, fashion, and expression in honor of National Women’s Day.

Held at the vibrant MQ Factory (, the event unfolded in a space designed for creativity to thrive. Founded by photographer and multimedia artist Ricky Codie, the MQ Factory has grown into more than just a studio — it’s a cultural hub where artists are encouraged to express themselves freely. Last night was a testament to that mission.

Expressionism took center stage as attendees moved through the space, discovering new creatives at every turn. While some may say Philadelphia is small, moments like this remind us just how expansive our creative community truly is — a world full of passionate artists using their voice and craft to leave a mark.

From the moment you walked in, you were welcomed with warmth — a greeting, a ticket check, and suddenly you were swept into a room buzzing with life. The aroma of delicious food filled the air, and the crowd moved with purpose — some lining up for portraits, others snapping photos in front of a wall decorated with colorful, playful balloons.

Two standout brands that caught my eye were Delirium Dreaming (@deliriumdreaming_) by Kasiah and London Rock Art (@londonrockart) by Damaris Colon. Each showcased pieces that felt deeply personal, adding to the collective energy of the night.

But Almost Famous didn’t stop at fashion and visual art — the event was an immersive experience. On both floors, vendors and artists offered live services that drew curious crowds: live portrait sketches by Dali (@idalisreigns), tattooing by Olivia Simone (@livesimoneart), piercings by November (@novwestcoast), sewing by Dasia (@lorddasia), and tooth gems by Aura (@icyaurastudio). Meanwhile, DJ JAMZ (@djjamz) kept the vibes high with a seamless mix that had the room moving.

Almost Famous stands as a powerful reminder of why women deserve spaces where they are protected, celebrated, and given the freedom to shine. The night felt like a wonderland — a place where creativity flourished and community thrived.

Shoutout to Melasia Devine (@melasiad), the founder of Almost Famous, for curating such a meaningful space where artists can unapologetically show up, be seen, and connect.
