Apparently, the Michipicoten is taking on water roughly 35 miles off the coast of Isle Royale in Lake Superior. Reports indicate they struck an unknown object. We really hope the crew is unharmed. Reports indicate that pumps are doing what they're designed for, reducing its list, and the crew is being evacuated/assisted by the Coast Guard. We documented the 689-footer at the Marquette Ore Dock back in 2015. We like the look of this vessel as it resembles a classic "Laker." Join us in praying for the crew's safety.

A lot of folks don’t realize how much research goes into our productions. We’re currently working on a video about the CSX Cowan Pusher District in Tennessee — one of only two such districts remaining in the Volunteer State. Since information online is limited (the NC&STL was a regional railroad and quite rural), we purchased these 6 books that contain volumes of important information regarding the history of the line and the steepness of the grade. All-in-all, you’re looking at roughly $450 when you consider that most of these books are rare and have been out of print for many years. They are essentially collector’s items but are required reading for getting the details correct. That’s how dedicated we are — and often why we re-upload old videos with updated information. Historical accuracy is what we’re all about at DIB.
