👁️ Nearly everyone on the planet will experience an eye health issue in their lifetime. At least 2.2 billion people worldwide have near or distance vision impairment, about half of which could have been prevented or remain unaddressed.

Key facts:
🔹 The leading causes of vision impairment and blindness are refractive errors (such as short-sightedness) and cataracts.
🔹 People over 50 years and those in low- and middle-income countries are most affected.
🔹 Regular eye exams and early access to affordable treatment can prevent most vision loss.

How to protect your sight:
👀 Get regular eye checks.
🩺 Treat underlying health conditions like diabetes early.
⏸️ Take regular screen breaks.
🕶️ Wear UV-blocking sunglasses.
🥗 Eat well and don’t smoke.
🛡️ Use protective eyewear for work/sport.
